I have talked to an owner with a 1600 and he just loves it. I havent run into anyone with one on a 1700 and no mention of the 1700 on the Russell site that I could locate.

Ultimate Seat is making one for the 1700 Nomads. I called early in July and they expected it to be ready by now so will call in a few days. The Yamaha riders swear by them as Ultimate started with them they are now getting into other brands. So far I am okay with the stock seat having spent 8 hours in it in a day but am interested in what Ultimate is doing.

How do you guys like the stock seat on the 1700's? I've heard that they are quite comfortable. The stock seat on my '07 1600 didn't work for me. Got it and the pillion reworked but it didn't help much. I've been riding on the Russell seat for about a year now. Can't ask for better. When Russell makes a seat for your bikes, you can bet they will be good.

I don't mind the stock seat my wife rides for an hour or two and starts to complain especially on any bumps we hit. I will check out ultimate seats too. thanks for the reply's

I dont have any complaints on the 1700 stk seat at all. Wife can handle up to about 5 hours before she puts her hands around my neck.

I have had no problem with the stock seat as I mentioned earlier. Since I added highway pegs to give me a different sitting position it is even better. Coming back from the NE rally was a 9 hour day (minus lunch stop) and it was fine. Having said that, I am always interested in what others try and may check out the Ultimate as it comes with a trial period.
