Last Saturday (Aug 7), my wife and I were on our way from Lindale to St. Louis in the SUV.

We were traveling East on I-44 between Joplin, MO and Springfield, MO when I ran up two Nomads with pillions and trailers.

One was solid black, the other black and gray. Was it anyone on this forum?

Thanks,
Trip

were they pulling trailers, or being hauled on a trailer?

Thats not right Loafer , If a nomad is in the back of a truck than it must be a harley trying to be a nomad , and thats all I have to say about that . ah ah ah ah .

If the food is bland, throw some Montreal steak spice on it. Just thought we could jazz this thread up a little. Every time someone in my family spots a MC in pick-up or trailer, they look to see what color HD it is... Stump, you can re-enter earth's atmosphere now..

Admittedly I trailer my Nomad all the time. Just personal preference. I just don't care for interstate riding or inclement/extreme temp weather. So I drag my Nomad on a trailer till I get where I really want to ride.

I hope no one thinks my Nomad is a Harley when they see it on a trailer. I have had people see my bike on a trailer and say that is the first time they have seen a Nomad on a trailer.

If Trip had seen a black Nomad on a trailer, he would probably know it's mine.

When we rode through BC and Alberta enroute to Kalispell a couple weeks ago....I was amazed at how many Nomads we ran across in Canada...including another member (Grizzdog)! I managed to give out no less than 6 or 7 business cards and there were another 6 or so that we couldn't catch... http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif!! At one point we stopped for fuel and another Nomad rider there joined our posse for about 50 miles or so!

Why so many Nomads up there? Our thinking was that HD is an AMERICAN icon....not so much in Canada. We saw lots of HD's of course, but I think the overall bike population of Canada has many more metrics than does the states.....just a guess...

It is the price difference up here Kris; you'd be lucky to find an HD dressed like a Nomad off the showroom floor for less than $30,000, around here anyways. Our economy isn't quite as bad as yours right now, but money has tightened up considerably in the last couple of years and Canadians are looking to spend less on the luxuries also. There is also the federal tax of 5% and most provinces have a provincial tax also or a combined GST AND PST called HST of, I think Mike said BC pays HST at 13%?, can't remember for sure but it is added onto the cost of everything we buy. Alberta only has the GST, no provincial, so we don't get ripped quite as bad.

I was on that stretch of road on Sunday with my son. Two Nomads, no pillion and no trailers. Had a late lunch in Joplin and went to Bass Pro Shop in Springfield. Nice (warm) 300mi round trip.

Harley's being an AMERICAN icon, kinda makes sense, maybe because I thought of it :)
