Stebel Question

I just finished installing a Stebel Nautilus Compact. I've just got one question. Do I need to place the small black air hose elbow on it? In the Stebel directions, it shows it attached and says to route the hose to clean air. Since the horn is out in the open, is this part neccessary?

I installed the plastic piece on mine but no hose. It has been working fine for over a year.

No hose on mine....just the elbow for 2 years.

No hose, it just showed one in the "instructions". I tested it without the elbow, and it worked fine. I think I'll leave it off.

Elbow is so you can put an air intake line on it, just so it dosnt suck in water or dirt as much if you run a hose up some where protected, or fill it full of water with the garden hose ect. As long as that little air intake isnt closed off, itll work.

Mine is a Stebel Nova Chrome it has a chrome plastic cover the covers most of the horn found it on e-bay for $57.00 I can't find link to them right now it was a seller in Florida. They are all the same great horn it just depends, how much you want to spend for bling.
