Hi All,
Saddle bag insert questions:
I have a 1999 Nomad and Brother in law has a 2002.
We both would like to have the saddle bag inserts (liners, bags , whichever). So, where is a good source, and are they the same for all nomadsor do diferent model years require different inserts?
Thanks

Same insert for both Nomads. I got mine off ebay for $40, great bags, very strong, well worth the money. These are the ones I purchased:

There are several different ones there, search for "Nomad liner".

The second set are the ones I have. Been using them for over 5 years now. They are very well made, fit the bags nicely, and strong.

I have some similar to the first link, but mine have some outside pockets on them. They are pretty good and fit well, however one of the bags had a seam open up but I mended that myself.

I have the TLC liners. They are great. Inexpensive, yet durable. Pockets on the inside, also.

I've used these for about three months and so far so good. Well made, durable and the price seemed reasonable.

Gee, my liner bags say Clueless and Lark. Is this wrong?
As to sewwing I better not just go there. But I made this lefty rig with a fender, to include the sterling buttons by hand.

Good work Mac.
Bags are a great thing to have. When you open the saddlebag they keep everything from spilling out.

I use a set of harley bag liners that I purchased at a local bike show. I like the harley bags becuase they are not contoured on top like the bags made specifically for the Nomad. That leaves a gap between the top of the liner and the saddlebag that allows me to stuff things I don't want in the bag liner, like my rain suit, or extra gloves, or tire repair kit....you get the idea. There are a few places where the liners don't snug up against the saddlebags that provide a good place to stuff things I need to get to quick without having to open the liners up.
Maybe the TLC Nomad specific ones have that extra space, but just looking at the web site they seem to match the inside of the saddlebags pretty well.

I think I once heard that real bikers don't care what other people think, so I guess if you want to be a seamtress, don't talk to me anymore.

I bought my insert bags and engine guard chaps from this company. When I tried to pay him over the phone he said "don't pay now, get them first, if you like them then send me a check"!!! It's been years since I've heard that kind of trust. One of my engine guard chaps was having an issue after a year.....he replaced it for no charge. Bag inserts are top notch. Fit perfect.
