The kids close on their house tomorrow morning. Then they plan to spray the ceilings and paint before moving in. Also going to install new outside doors and locks. The plan is to have them moved in or out by August 1st.

Who's installing the new locks, you or them? http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
My daughter moved back in with us along with her husband and two sons for about a year and a half. Money issues of course. I was nice to have them, nicer to see them move out. Grandkids are even more fun when you can send them home. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

That's probably why I got a suitcase when I graduated high school.

They will pay for them but Dad will most likely do the install. I think they have a list of things already made up for Dad to do. Oh well it keeps me off the streets and out of the bars.

I was told that when I left home, my Dad was going to save so much money that he was going to buy a color TV.... He did.

Glad to hear you're going to get your house back Jim.

Well the house thing did not happen yesterday. The bank did not get all the paper work done. It will be at least Tuesday now because the title company is not open on Monday's. Frist the bank said 11:00 then called and said 1:00 then called again and said 3:30 and then called and said not today. The kids are rally depressed. Kayla took off from work and now she is not sure when she can get off again to sign the papers. She just started a new job and taking off is not looked at very kindly.

With the housing market down, it looks like banks would be sending a rep to client's homes after hours for business. Guess it's not as bad as the numbers say it is.

Finially the bank got the T's crossed, I's dotted and ducks lined up. Tim closes on the house Thursday at 3:00 pm. Just 10 days longer than they told us. I guess better late than never. Going to spray the ceilings Friday and have a paint party Saturday. Beer and pizza after the painting is done. Then we will get the outside cleaned up, some new storm windows and doors installed, garage floor leveled and new gravel on the drive.

I have already decided that I am going into this venture as a supervisor not a laborer. The kids have friends that have already volunteered to help fix the place up. Good old dad is supplying the tools, knowledge and most likely his charge account at the lumberyard.

supervisor, supplying the tools, knowledge and most likely his charge account.

Feels like sometimes that is the best we can do. Hope the kids enjoy the new house.
