I'd never used Seafoam before, but I put about 1/2 of a pint in the bikes tank at my last fill-up and thought I noticed a slight difference. Maybe a little more power, maybe a little smoother. But nothing to write home about. Well then I decided to give it a try in the ol' RV - it's been running like a dog after sitting for 6 months not having been started (shame on me!). It hesitated, hucked & bucked, and just did not have the power it needed.

I dumped 6 pints of Seafoam in a 50 gal tank about 3/4 full. Ran the engine/drove around the block just enough to get it mixed in and running all the way through to the engine. Then let it sit for 48 hours. Last night was the big test...

Holy $&it ! That stuff works ! No hesitation, no hunk & buck, up the hills and down the freeway like it has a new lease on life !

I have seen the glory !!!

Ok, so now one more tip. That 3/4ers tank is a sin. That allows surface area for air to be above the fuel see? The for crap ethenol sucks up water from thin air. See!

Fill that tank up and keep it filled up in storage to reduce surface area to air. I mean right up the filler neck full, to be stored long term.

Yesterday a new Sunoco station opened here. Formerly it was Shell, and when it was shell the pumps were broken. It could take more than 5 minutes to recieve 7 cents worth of fuel.

I wanted to know if the new pumps were going to stand and deliver any fuel. so i went there to see. Well the new pumps work just fine, but this sticker on them says "En-riched with 10% Ethenol" and I just had to laff.

Mom and Paw sheep probably believe that crapolla. The booze factored in, is no more than 10% wasted space! grrrrrrrrr And with that a water sucking space!

And here I thought Mac was the 8th Wonder. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Seafoam is good stuff. It does seem to work. I'm with Mac on the keeping the tank full. I worked for a man many years ago and he told me never to let you tank get below a half tank. I have tried to follow his advice all these years.

I also do not believe in not starting anything for long periods of time. Sitting destroys an engine or anything else if it isn't used. Take my pecker for instance.... http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif ???

Glad you had good luck with seafoam. I have tried it and haven't had the success that everyone else has stated. My best luck has been with Chemtool B-12. Much cheaper than Seafoam ($3 vs $8+ per can).

Believe me I've already spent the necessary time beating myself up over not starting the darn thing for so long... and I even put Sta-Bil in the tank last fall.

Macmac you might be the true 8th wonder, but seafoam is a good 7-1/2. ;) :)

Never used Seafoam, but I have used and I do like MMO. When I use MMO, everything is better! The engine runs better, my tires last longer, women smile at me, the dog craps in a cardboard box under the deck, everytime! Ok, I lied about the tires lasting longer.

I use it in everything from my truck to my outboard motors and I especially notice it on stuff I don't run very often. Its one product that works well for me.

when i started the old weed whacker for the first time this spring
it would idle but when you tried to give it gas it would stall out.a
little seafoam in the tank and in short order it was running like
a new one.

I put it in the weedwacker last fall the first time this spring I pulled and pulled it wouldn't even start then I flipped on the run switch :-[ and it fired right up :)

For the most part the gas will go bad over the hot summer months I use it in my snowblower.
BD should try it in his snowblower http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

I might be the 8th wonder what!, but i am not the 8th wonder. My hair is so long and strange i look like a walking moutain range. That's a wonder what, which ain't much.
Gene just likes messin with me and I mess back is all.

If Gene don't like you, it would be ill advised to call him a fool. He seems to like me so far.

I probably would make a good pet.

Sta-bil is just a fuel stabilizer. Does nothing for cleaning fuel systems, carbs, combustion chambers, etc. Seafoam does it all. (They claim)
I use Sta-bil in my stored fuel containers. Mix in the foam when filling machine fuel tanks. All run great!

Mac I don't mess with anyone must be your imagination. I try to be like my mentor BD.

Mac you are one of the good guys, down to earth and honest. I do like you and consider you a friend. There are a bunch of good guys here and they know who they are. If you feel good about yourself others will see that and feel that.

I haven't seen that guy back at the ladies house. If I had I would have at least taken a picture of both our bikes sitting side by side. I may have to sneak over and just talk to her if he doesn't show back up. Might get to sneak a picture of her. Who knows!

Tombstone I'm going to have to try that Marvel Mystery Oil. Guess that is why it is called Mystery. I never realized it could do so much.

Fish I liked your post and how to start a weedwhacker. It does help if you turn them on.

I found Seafoam really making a difference in putting some into the crankcase for about the last 500 miles you drive before doing an oil change. I really frees up the parts in the crankcase. My engine ran much quieter and smoother after using it in the crankcase.

I agree with Tombstone.

I am a believer in Marvel Mystery Oil. (MMO) My understanding it was developed by Marvel the carb maker during WWII to keep carbs from clogging. It worked so well people wanted to know what was in it. Marvel said it was a "Mystery." Hence the name. Haven't tried it on pancakes (cause I figure it is Kerosene) but it sure cleans out the fuel system and not your wallet.
