Hi, heading across I-90 tomorrow in South Dakota and as usual it will be windy. I'm really curious if you folks that travel a lot, prefer large or small lowers on a windy day. I realize that it may depend on the wind direction. Probably a stupid post but thanks for any input, Dakota

On July 2 we rode across S.D. from Worthington, MN to Chamberlain, S.D. We fought 40-45 m.p.h. south winds for 400 miles. Not fun. The next time I go to the Black Hills I will trail my bike to Rapid City. I do not think that the size of the lower will make much difference. Maybe go with no lower.

I have larger lowers and have noticed no ill affects Gibby. We hit huge wind in Ellensburg, WA on Sunday. What I have noticed though that some gusts that hit you from side and rear make your fairing into a bit of a sail. There is some pucker factor there. By the way, good looking black Gibby.

If you are riding in that much wind, the size of the lowers is the least of your worries. I have large lowers and I don't think it makes a difference.

I never considor the wind direction when Im riding anywhere, I just plan my route and go, unless they forcast a tornado or something. The lowers won't do much difference regardless of their size.

You ride without lowers you'll regret it big time...

No comparison, leave the big ones on..

Gibby, please stack your sig pics like I have mine.
The way you have them I and some others on the forum have to scroll side to side to read any thread you post in.
Thanks for your consideration.
For you guys in the peanut gallery, you know who you are, no comment is necessary http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Well I think size does matter............................................ ............................when it comes to lowers LOL Oh and does the fairing help against puffering and also does it catch the cross winds??

Large lowers all the time, no issues.

Thanks Hammer
Hey TC, when I look at my sig pix they are stacked just like yours. I am confused, but that is not uncommon.

Gibby, on my screen you have four pics side by side.
My pics are two side by side and two more under neath them.
That way all four fit on my screen with out scrolling.

It wasn't a dry heat today. 84 days since we've had rain, 41 days over 100°, 11 straight days of 110° or above.

TC is correct on your pictures they are four side by side. We do have to scroll from side to side to read the entire post. Go in and modify your profile. On the pictures after the first two pictures hit the return key and this should stack two on top of the other two.
