I can't thank this forum enough for all the expertise that is shared -- i'm a mechanic with 4 thumbs, but all the information here has given me the confidence to now change my own oil, installed driving lights, throttle lock, the run/stop/brake adaptor and just finished changing the final drive oil. my wife, who knows my mechanical limitations all too well, asks me how i learned to do those things -- i tell her i have people! now on to installing a new horn, and if all goes well, more rear lighting!

Thats why I like it here as well, Ive never found such a helpfull sight for working on our bikes. Its nice to know that when you get in a jam, all you have to do is ask and most times you get help right away.

I have you beat zamboni on the number of thumbs. All kidding aside, everything I have done and plan to do on my Nomad were learned right here on this site. I can honestly say that I've never looked further than KawaNOW for advise on mods or repairs. If you can't find an answer here, someone will take the time to help you research and the majority of the time they will come up with at least a hint to help you along. It's great to read posts such as yours. Ride safe.

It is great feeling to be able to do your own maintenance or bling projects knowing you have web sites such as kawanow and gadgets to help you along. This is one of the reasons I joined this site. Oh and the wife gets the credit she found the website!

I agree, this site is the main reason I sold my Harley Superglide and went with a Nomad. Changing my oil on my Harley cost well over $40 (using Amsoil) and I changed oil again last night (on the Nomad) and spent around $13, using regular dina oil and filter from Walmart. I am also not much of a mechanic, but I have installed all of the mods to my Nomad myself, with a little wiring help from my son who is an Air Force avionics technician. The folks on this site are so helpful and have given me the confidence to tackle the tasks I have done.
