Has anyone tried these chaps? What do you think?

I had something similar when I lived in Florida in the 80's but not this nice. My leather chaps are to hot now and do not breath. I've put away my leather untill fall but would still like a little more protection for highway rides.

These can be ordered with kevlar pipe guards, knee pads and a lot of other options as well.

I'm also interested. I've been looking for pants or chaps that would allow more airflow while riding, but still offer protection, just in case...

Those look like they would do the trick and the price is reasonable.

I might get me some for winter riding. I still think it's too hot for them around here now.

If i'm not mistaken ballistic nylon and cordura will burn thru and melt to your skin if you fall off and slide down the highway.
Kevlar will wear thru just takes longer a slide.

Ya I like my skin the way it is. Thats why I like the option of the guards.

"KNEE AND SHIN GUARDS: removable CE rated Knox 238 3 layer armor with an articulated honeycomb core. Ultra lightweight and flexible. Slides into internal pockets at the knee."

By the time the blacktop wears through the chaps and guards then it will have to work on my jeans. They got to be better than wearing nothing but a smile! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
