On Saturday we participated in an annual memorial charity run in southern NH. On the last leg of the trip this A$$HO#E crosses through head on into the middle line of about 400 bikes. Full police escort, very well planned run. Seems he was drunk. This morning's news reports that he was also arrested the night before for drunk driving. Somehow only 2 bikes got hit. 1 rider injured and released, but his passenger wife died. Another rider is in serious condition. Very senseless. I was about 80 bikes behind the crash. I was a nervous wreck driving home. My prayers to the families.

WOW I can tell them what to do with the drunk but unfortunately my solution wouldn't be used.
We all now it's a crap shoot every time we get on out Nomads and go for a ride. We had a guy just yesterday decide he needed to get by us on a narrow, winding back road and luckily there was just enough room for him to get in the lane beside me for a few seconds while the card went by in the other lane. you gotta wonder what the hell sober people are thinking when they do crap like that but the ones driving drunk should be taken out an gotten rid of.

Until the law (and the lawmakers) gets serious about drunk driving and stupid drivers this type of thing will only get worse. When laws are not enforced it only brings contempt for the law.
My father-in-law was killed on his scooter by a drunk driver in 1963 leaving my wife as a fatherless 9 year old. He got 24 weekends in jail!!!! Thank God my mother-in-law cleaned his company out in a civil case since he was driving a company vehicle.
I get sick of all of the motorcycle events and advertising that glorifies booze and motorcycles. Don't drink and drive. At least we can do our part. (Somewhat sorry for the rant)
Bail was set @ $30,000? I guess life has no value.

Sorry to hear of such a stupid tragedy. It seems that things will never change. There should be no bond or bail for anyone that does such a stupid thing.

such a sensless tragedy. sorry to the family of those involved. however, going headfirst into 400 bikes, thankfully it was not much much worse!
So Senseless. A group my brother rides with got hit head on by a drunk driver. 3 of them went down and while no one died there was some pretty serious injuries. One lost his leg and another had brain injuries. This was 2 years ago, and the case has still not gone to court!
It is incredible what these guys get away with. A Friend's brother was a hopeless drunk and after several convictions, he finally did a real number. Driving the wrong way on a major highway in Ontario and plowing into another car. The woman he hit was in critical condition and I'm not sure if she lived or not. They put him in prison for 2 years. The unbelievable part is the Quebec government ( where he is from ) settled out of court for his injuries and gave him over 2 hundred thousand dollars.
Free room and board for 2 years, and a big paycheck when he got out!
