Did you have to change the bulb to an amber one for the front turn signal? If not, what color is the light emitted from your front turn signals with these on? I'm interested in getting a set, but I'm not sure if the law requires amber front turn signals.

Yelp, you have to change the bulbs. Yellow for front, red for back if you have a run-turn-brake mod. Yellow or red for back turn only. IT'S THE LAW! http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

I have amber bulbs in the front and used a red "sharpie" on the rear bulbs. They illuminate amber and red, respectively. Check local laws concerning lamp requirements. In MN a headlight and a red taillight and a license plate light is all that is required. Turn signals are not even mentioned.

Good info, thanks for it. I'll get a set of smoked front ones using the link above!

Thank you! I was wondering how the light cuts through on these lenses? Is it bright enough? Does the colored bulbs show through as well? (I was wondering where this post went, I posted this in the wrong section).

PG, I like the shirt. Tried to order one for my wife but they want $11 shipping. Did you have a discount code for the free shipping?

Back to the signals.........I have smoked signals and brake light. I used to have smoked lenses on the front, but went with a smaller signal. They look great on a black bike and I get lots of compliments especially as I have it solo'ed with the license plate layed down. I am going with brighter bulbs or LED's on the brake light for safety sake. I bought mine through cruisercustomizing.com. The prices were reasonable and the appropriate bulbs were offered with the lenses. Take a look and put your biken in if your interested. If your bike is a 1600 I recommend the Kury. smoked lenses available for it. They look great.

When I get to my weekend - I'll post some pics of the rear. Again, If you have the 1600 Kuryakyn has the smoke bezels that are different from mine, but they really look good.

bringing this post back from the dead...

So I also wanted to try the smoke turn signal lights -
I got a e mail link from a friend on here, but of course I couldn't wait and went to the auto parts store and bought some "VHT" which is the blk spray paint can thing. So I sprayed them down yesterday and am getting alot of cracks-in the paint on the lens.

Before I break down and buy the "already smoked lens" (which will take 20 days to ship from Canada) ...
Anybody got any ideas on how to eliminate the cracks?? maybe another coat?

thanks Guys

Ah, CHROME, my favorite color http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif, but those are for a 1500, They won't work on a 1600. :'(
All my lenses are clear, all 4 turns, the brake, the rear of the trunk, and the side markers on the trunk.

No word on the chrome turn signal lens covers, but I did order some smoked ones from D2MOTO, and also a matching smoked tail light cover from 58cycle.... here's the outcome - I LIKE!

Front - Before

Front - After
http://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-WlykVMjJdGE/Tj2MbplI6-I/AAAAAAAAAFs/zI3m3zcwupE/2.jpg

Rear - Before

Rear - After
http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-lU9FhB1R55U/Tj2Mb8fuFKI/AAAAAAAAAFw/B-AVWbtOkGA/4.jpg

The smoked tail light comes with a red bulb to replace the existing clear bulb. I replaced the front signals with amber 2357A long life bulbs from Sylvania. Rears are 1156A amber long life buls from Sylvania.

Cheaper to order the lenses from D2MOTO's website than via eBay. I got 8 (bought a spare set) for less than $20 delivered. Taillight was $38 + shipping from 58cycle, the cheapest place I could find.

Hope this helps!
