Any one coming through West Virginia on the way to the rally?
I live in the center of the state I 79 exit 67, Flatwoods. Great Days Hotel here also. I have not planned my route yet but will soon.

I'd Run I-79 to the Hwy 33 exit then ride 33 all the way to Staunton. Should be a great ride! 4-5 hours and great scenery.

Thanks Trosco, I know I dont want to drop south and take 64 east to 81 and go north. Been there done that.

Has anyone been on 250 through the George Washington National Forest? Looks like a good no highway ride to Staunton.

I think we were on 250 when we rode up in Elkins two years ago.

Actually my wife and I were on that part of Rt 250 yesterday. Unfortunately we were in the car and not on the bike (lots of rain). We traveled one of the ride routes for the rally. It is a great ride.

I wish I had time to come up there and ride to the rally with you. WV is beautiful. You got that, CoachA's got the long four or five states adventure. I always wind up shafted! :'( http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

Dang, ok, next time we have a regional rally, we will base it in Crystal River, FL. That way Kaw-Head can ride a ways and I'll just have to get up 5 minutes before and ride 1/2 mile :)

FL.'s fine, but some of the bugs down there either eat, sting, or aggravate the hell out of you. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif And the riders are going to be two years older by then and we're already crotchety enough now with out all of that.

Maybe Tennessee or West Virginia. I just got to see WV last year, 'cause "A funny thing happen on the way home from the rally last year". Kawgirl and Todd got to bike it, I had to truck it.

I got trucked I guess you could say.

We could do a March SE Rally down here...weather is usually good and the bugs aren't too bad.

I really do think we should do some kind of "SPRING FLING" down here in FLorida. Something that the northern riders could come down to and get out of the ice and snow. I'd help! let's talk about it at the rally?

West Virgina is a beautiful state and has great roads to ride. Wish you had been with KawaNOW when we had the first Eastern Region Rally there a couple of years ago Kawhead. You woulda loved it. Maybe we can revisit it.

I'll tell you, there was a lot of things that I liked about every state we rode through. I believe by the time we got to Ohio we logged close to five thousand miles. Maybe it was because I couldn't ride, or maybe it was seeing dozens of other bikes out there, but WV with the way the interstate winds through and IN the mountains takes you breath away. Everything is so dark green like Georgia.

I'mm gonna git back up there sometime this summer.
