Just realized today that it will be one month (31 days) til we meet up at Cortez. That time will go by fast.

i'm trying to decide if i should leave the snow tires on or maybe just bring some chains for those high colorado mountain passes.

Leave the snow tires and bring the chains. At least you can legally cross the passes. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Well now, it is less than 3 weeks til we meet. Time is moving fast. Need to get new tires on, service the bike, get myself ready and get all of my work done.

Yep, less than two weeks.
This will be the longest ride I have made in 30 yrs. And, I must admit I am a little nervous. I took my Nomad out this weekend for about 400 miles. Sweet. Very conferable with my new mustang seat/backrest.

Usranger, my suggestion is to stop every 90 to 100 miles and fuel. Gives you a chance to walk the kinks out and relax. You won't get nearly as tired and enjoy the ride.

Great suggestion Mark. CJ said that made all the difference going to Mesquite in 08.

Have to agree with Mark on this one Bill. Just take it easy and enjoy the ride. That's what you do it for, enjoyment. If you are tired or sore, just stop. If you've had enough for the day, stop. Also, keep drinking and take snacks along. Everytime I stop, drink some water and eat a handful of snacks.

Txs for the tips and advise.
I plan on taking it easy - that is why I am taking 3 days.
But, this is something I have wanted to do for yrs. I look at this as a shake down ride. I hope to do at least 2 more long one this yr.

Well, my fun starts in the morning. Just hoping it doesn't rain tonight. Otherwise, trailer it 2 miles to get to pavement and then hit the road.
SW Rally starts in 4 days.
