I'm pretty sure I can go as long as it's on a weekend.
Been to Natchez and loved the town. Rode the Trace and stayed in Natchez for one night. I might be able to meet you guys there depending on what weekend.

Here's a pic that I took when I was there.

That's a terrific view from the bluff. You know, there is a hotel there now. Go figure. natchez is a beautiful town.
How does May 29 or 30 sound ?

Sounds good to me Frank. We could meet up at the I-10/I-110 split unless you can think of a better location further down. I would be coming in on West I-10 after crossing the river at Wallace. Just let me know what time and location and we'll be there. You did plan on going up US-61 through St. Francisville, correct?

I'm ready! Been wanting to ride down there in the next few weeks anyway. Know of a good little ole restaurant just up the road at Port Gibson that attracts a lot of bikers. Southern cooking buffet open 365 days a year.

Jamie you have talked about that place before and I have been wanting to try it what time and where do you want to meet and then meet Bobby?
Are we eating in Port Gibson, or in Natchez ? I kinda would prefer Natchez. What is the name of the place in Port Gibson, and where is it located ?

Natchez is good for me. That was the original plan.
Natchez it is. See you then, Mitch.

Sounds more like a question than an original plan I don't care where we eat as I just wanted to ride and see some old friends. The only thing I said was that Jamie had talked about the restaurant in Port Gibson before and that I would like to try it but I don't care when just some time and the 29th will be good for me.
What time are you planning on being in Natchez and where would you like to meet.
Lets see it is:
162 miles for Mitch
100 miles for Bobby
95 miles for Frank
120 miles for Jamie
252 miles for me I think I will have to leave early http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

Jim, you decide where we eat. It's your ride. We can ride all day around Natchez. Port Gibson is just up the road and it's a little different than all the other generic restaurants you'll see in Natchez. Out away from the city traffic, also. Lot's of history and old Arthur will even sing to ya while you eat his good ole southern cooking, with fried chicken as his specialty. There's always a lot of bikers there, also. But I really don't care where we eat, as long as we eat...There's a thousand different ways we can go down, Jim. We can pick up Bobby on 55 in Terry and go down to Brookhaven and go across on 64, I think. Or we can meet at the Trace in Clinton and go down, it's about 75 or 80 miles from there. Or Bobby can meet us in Clinton on I-20 and we can go over to Vicksburg and go down 61 to Natchez, going right by the Country Store Restaurant, as I mentioned earlier. Or we can meet Bobby on on 18 there in Jackson and go all the way to Utica and get on 61 from there..Lot's of possibilities.. I'll come up to Winona and meet ya Jim, give me a little more ridin' and that's what it's all about, anyway. See y'all on the 29th. It'll make Eureka Springs seem a little closer, also.

Jamie let's eat at the restaurant that Frank was talking about we can always grab Bobby and eat at the old country store any time and Frank was the one that started talking about this ride I just jumped on the band wagon cause I wanted to ride. You want to meet in Winona about 7:00 ?
Hey, Jim. Didn't mean to cause a ruckus. I hope you guys are ok with Natchez. I know that ya'll go there more than us, so it may not seem as big a deal to ya'll, but it's a good outing for us. I would like to go the restaurant that Jamie talked about sometime. Let me know when ya'll go.
Mitch and I are meeting here in BR about 9:00 AM. That will probably put us in Natchez between 11:00 and 11:30. We can start out later if that is more desirable for you guys. I can leave whenever need be. My wife and I are looking forward to meeting ya'll, and having a nice day. Hope the weather is nice.

Bring it on Kip. I replied to your PM about the departure time. One of my operators and his wife may be coming along also. He rides a HD Classic but that's OK. I told him he could ride in the back. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
Good thing I have a darkly tinted face shield if a Harley is coming along. I wouldn't want anybody to recognize me. LOL !! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Sounds good, Jim, if the boss oks it.
Lil Dagos is not a large restaurant. It's more like a cafe, but boy the food is good ! It's owned by the Mascagni brothers, so it's authentic stuff. Should be a great day. I'm really looking forward to connecting real people with the website. Like I said, hope the weather cooperates.
My wife and I are supposed to travel to St. Louis and help my son move that weekend, but we may not get to go. I've also been suffering from some knee problems. The doc says I need to take it easy for a while. So, I won't really know if I can attend until the last minute. For me, it's about 300 miles to Natchez, so if I ride, I'll be staying overnight.
I hope I have the chance to go. I haven't been in Natchez in a while. Plus, I look forward to seeing everyone and getting to meet Painless, Skipper and others.
I'll keep you posted.

Well, if you can't make it to St. Louis and you heal up good enough to ride, swing over this way and join us. Don't rush the knee mending. The older you get the longer it hurts. How would I know that??

Hope you can make Trip it is about 250 miles for me that's the reason I am thinking about spending the night, and also want to spend some more time in Natchez. Looking forward to seeing all my old friends and meeting new ones. And then just 4 weeks after this Eureka Springs http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
It would be great to meet you as well, Trip. I totally understand about the knees. I fell off of a barstool in college, and hadn't been the same since. Just joking ::) .My body is constantly reminding my brain that I am not 18. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif Hope you get to make it.

Kip Jamie and I are going to spend the night so we have time to enjoy a little of Natchez as it is a 250 miles for me I don't want to ride down and eat lunch and then have to leave to get back home the same day. I don't know where we are going to stay yet but I will let you know as soon as we make reservations.

My plans are to go up and come back the same day Kip. It's not a very long ride for us.
Same here. Going up and back the same day.
After taking in all considerations, I've decided to pass on the Natchez tour. I flirted with the thought of going, but it's probably best I not for several reasons.
While I won't be going to St. Louis that weekend, I will be going the middle of June. And then a week after I get back, I will be going to Eureka Springs for the rally.
So, I probably need to save my money and see you guys in ES, AR.
Everyone traveling to Natchez have a safe trip. See all of you in ES.
Oh, and the knee is getting better by the day.
Trip, sorry to hear you aren't going to be able to come. I know it was a tough decision, but I completely understand your reasons. We have a house in Ruston, LA, and we go up quite often. Maybe one time when we are up, I'll shoot you a message before we go, and we can link up, and at least meet. If things change within the next two weeks, we'd be glad to have you come along. Thanks for the safe wishes. We'll have to post some pics.
Frank
Painless,
Thanks. I hope you and the wife can make it to Eureka Springs. I'd really like to meet you guys.
Have a safe ride to Natchez and back.

Hey Jim, reserve a room at Vidalia or a couple at the one I told ya about, Quality Inn in Natchez, I think. Or I can reserve 'em. Just hoping for good weather, seems like every weekend there's a chance of rain here lately, or tornadoes.
+1 on the weather, Jamie. Looked like Natchez got bombarded this weekend. Just when you plan something that involves outdoors, the planets align, and the weather goes down the chute. Hopefully, we'll get lucky.
