Hello all! I'm a new member as well as being a new Nomad rider. I'm really happy to have found this forum, thanks Trip!
I had a Sportster, sold it and got a black 2007 Nomad. My wife now rides with me and we have a great time together. I drag race a front engine dragster (wife hates it) I've got a street rod (wife doesn't like it too much either) But she loves her Nomad. All was well in our world until 7:17 pm on 7/31/07 when a 16 year old dude in a SUV hung a left in front of me. I think I was only going about 15 mph when I hit him. Bent everything on the front end from the bars down. And broke my left leg, at 52 we don't heal as quick as we used to. So here I sit waiting for the bone to heal & a call from the bike shop telling me our ride is fixed. It's the first new bike I've had and only has 5000 miles on it. I found out real quick that Nomad means there ain't no way you can be mad when you ride a Nomad. What a great motorcycle! Have fun folks and be careful, we'll be back on the road with you all soon.

Wow Wheelie what awful news. You seem to be handling it a lot better than I would. I'd be a Freekazoid for a long time if my Nomad had an owie...

Thanks one and all, it's knowing that people care that has made this whols thing bearable. The LW (little woman) even drove the cage on a business trip to the Windy City a week after the crash and packed my crap around to the meetings. I knew I made the right choice 33 years ago. I REALLY miss riding I'm one of those every day riders if its above freezing I ride the 40 miles to work and back, then LW & me hit the road every weekend. I can tell she misses the wind too. Gonna take her on a long week end when me and the MAD are healed.
Thanks again!
