I removed the driver backrest from my new to me Nomad last night and found that where it attached to the shock mounts the nut would not tighten down far enough to reach the shock and 2 washers that I had. I added a few washers to space it out for now.
Can someone tell me what was changed to put the driver backrest on? or maybe a picture of what it is suppose to be like without a driver backrest on the shock mount?
Thanks

Go to this site and look for the shock detail for your bike. It will show you what spacers are supposed to be there.
Hope this helps

I can just make out this is a 1600 by the air inlet placement. The 1500 is different. Unless you have a full pic of the bike, you really need to state year and model. A great deal of things do not interchange from 1500 to 1600. I am sure you wouldn't just know that.
Some but not all parts that differ are the tail lamps, the fenders, the saddle bag bolt lengths, the seats and the way the seats mount, the wheel sizes so the tire sizes, more...
The top mount should have a needle bearing and a inner spacer the flat washer and lock washer rest against seals.
The seals and bearings may be there, but i wonder of the inner bearing race / spacer is?
