Not going to make it to the rally

My wife and I are going to Europe to see her Mother for 10 days right before, and all the way through the rally time period.

If you guys have as much fun as the combination of the Western Rally and our small Colorado ride with Ells, Audio, and Wolfman a couple of years ago, it ought to be a great time.

Here's a bummer. She told me this weekend that she screwed up. She meant to buy the tickets for those dates in July, but accidentally bought them for June.

It could have been a great summer on two accounts if only the tickets were bought for the right time.

I saw one of those Rider magazine rides where they hook up with a tour operator in Europe and send some magazine editors to ride with some readers who are willing to pony up the $$. For 5-10k you can ride their bikes, hotels, breakfast and dinner all paid for a couple of weeks of riding.

She offered up on her own that perhaps when her mother dies, we could each take a trip. She'd bicycle in Europe, and I'd go on one of those motorcycle tours.

It'll be with great sadness if I ever announce that her mother died ;)

I knew an Alaskan fishing lodge manager who was single and every year he would take a vacation to an Eastern Bloc country...like Romania. When I asked why there of all places, he said that in those countries the US dollar was worth a LOT more.....and if you were an American....short, fat or otherwise....you got THE hottest chicks in the nightclubs.....15's on a scale of 10. He said you didn't even have to work at it....they chase you! The best hotels....the hottest girls....CHEAP.
