took my first real ride today after working on the bike for the last 3 weeks.(few hours a night)
did the swingarm service, shaft etc etc.
extenders for camshaft tensioner.
steering bearing service (torqued to 24FT/LBS.
it's like riding a diffirent bike. much steadier on the road and doesn't want to wander all over and the best of all...no more scarry WOBBLE. the minute i took off i coult tell the handling was diffirent.
very happy about that one.
also, the cam chain rattle is gone and that rattle realy got to me.
i could hear it always and after a while it was all i thought about while driving
i've read mac's reply's to many questions all winter about swingarm, steering and tensioner service (i was taking notes and mentally preparing for the task) and i have to say thruthfully THEY MAKE A HUGE DIFFIRENCE...not just i think it's better but it's way better...
so if you're thinking about doing any of that stuff, get on with it and after, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner and you'll feel more mechanicaly conected to your bike ...hehehehehe

I am sure your bike rides much better now. Glad you were able to accomplish it all. Congratulations on a job well done.

Well put, have been" mentally preparing" to install the cam chain extenders myself. Got them on the shelf just waiting for the the day. Left side (stock) looks to be the problem, that and cutting the old ones off.

Plan a trip down here Ells. We'll do both of the bikes.
