How is everyone doing?? After an overwhelmingly satisfying season 1, its time to start season 2. Its finally staying warm and the 2 million pot holes are finally getting filled here in NYC. Since the bike has been good to me, I want to reward it buy installing a tach.
I'm looking for recommendations on which one to buy and were to purchase. I have done some research and there are just a few to chose from.
Thanks, Chris

I went with the Baron's Bullet Tach. Good price, easy to install, works good and looks good. Fits very well between the risers.

I bought an inexpensive one on Ebay. Not fancy or as nice lookin' as the bullet but it works for me. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I had this one for almost 9 years and it worked without problem. I took it off recently when I put a fairing on. It's available with black or white face. I had to replace the bulb for the instrument light once.

PS. If you get this one, don't use the cheesy clamp it comes with. Get a 1" P-Clamp made by Kuryakyn. Looks and works better.

in my opinion the oem tach that is sold by kawi as an accessory is
by far the best looking but also one of the most expensive at about $300.

I've been satisfied with my Baron's Bullet Tach.

The bracket also provided a flat spot to stick my LED voltmeter.

Utah, that tach is mechanical. I believe an electric one is need for this application.

Im thinking of adding gauges to the fairing, oil pressure, water temp, volts, and a tach. Princess Auto here carries some nice 2" gauges that I like. Heres my question; the tach has settings for 4-6-8 cylinder motors, Will it work? or what do I need to do to make it work on our Nomads?

Yes it should, it had the same thing on the tach that I had and I think it worked on the 4 cyl. but it's hard to remember. It will be pretty obvious if it shows at about 950rpm at idle. I am pretty sure you will need to go to the negative post on the coil. I used the left side coil because it seemed easier to get to at the time.
