Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I didn't see this addressed in the 1700 section.

Has anyone here drilled out the baffles from the stock exhaust? If so...do you have a before and after sound bite? I'm tempted, but..........

Not sure if the 1700 mufflers are constructed the same as the 1500/1600 mufflers. I think the only way to know would be to disect a muffler from a 1700. That might be expensive.

I just got a full Nomad Exhaust off of ebay for $50. They are off a wrecked bike and have some minor dings, but I'm going to take them apart and see what there is. I'll let you guys know what I find.

Remember guys that the catalytic converters are in the muffler bodies. If you drill too deep, you loose all back pressure.

hmm.. good to remember. I think I'll be disecting the pipes completely to see what I can do with the pipes on mine. Or, I may experiment with the mufflers and try them out first.
