I don't suppose anyone knows what other filters I could use other than the Kawi brand for an '09? TIA

From the fiche records the 09 use the same as the 1600's.
Other than the OEM Kawai 16097-004 the HiFlo HF-204 or Emgo 10-82240 are my got to alternates and often recommended and stocked by dealers.
I usually order in quantities of 4 or more and have never paid more than $10 delivered for my OEM, less for the other 2.
Others include Bosch 3300, Purolator Pure One PL14612, Mobil 1 Mi-108 and I bet you will get responses for other faves.

They used to be made by Champion in the US but there seems to be some doubt as to where WalMart is sourcing them now. There is a lot of that doubt now so I tend to stick to the OEM, HiFlo and Emgo. That's just me.

Bought one last month from local WalMart and it said Made in USA on it. Also it had a cross reference list on it for other filters and a Motorcraft FL-821 was listed. I tried one of those, they are very good made in USA filters also.

I use the Bosch 3300 and have been well satisfied with it. Can be purchased at Auto Zone.
