View Full Version : Phat ll Risers Center Hole

I just installed Phat ll Risers on my 07 Nomad and it is possible to use the center hole.I removed the speedo cowling and loosened the fuel tank bolts then pulled back the tank as far as it would go.I then tightened the bolts while holding backward pressure on the tank.I did the same with the speedo cowling and ended up with a 1/16 inch of clearance between the risers and the cowling when the handle bars are lock to lock.Yee-Haw.....I think this is the best way to install the risers because that front hole dosn't feel as solid as the center hole location.

I put them on in center hole and didn't have to move anything. But I did loosen cowling and pulled it back but I couldn't turn the key. So I put it back have about 1/4" clearance.

I believe the instructions say to use the off-center hole for the 1600 Nomad worked fine on mine.

I did the same routine. I loosened the tank and cowl and yanked them back and retightened. I used the offset holes. I think the offset holes are better for me because if these were any further back, it would be too far back for me. My brake line is also a bit tight.

When I tried the key, it was tight also -- had to let move the cowl back to the middle.

I PULLED MY RISERS ALL THE WAY BACK. IT ALSO HIT THE IGN SWITCH SO I PULLED THE SPEEDO HOUSING AND FILED THE BOLT HOLES SO IT WOULD SLIDE BACK A LITTLE. AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER AND NO HIT. AS FOR THE BRAKE LINE I THINK IT LOOKS TIGHTER THAT IT REALLY IS.

Buy the Aeromach AM 3325C and you won't have to worry which hole to use. If the Phats were made for the bike why would there be 2 holes and confusion? Doesn't make sense to me at all. Wouldn't 2 holes make it weaker. In my little mind it does.

you're probably right, but why 2 holes? One for the 1600 Classic and one for the Nomad?

I think they have the same unit for several models These are really massive, almost too much.

THEY HAVE TWO HOLES SO YOU CAN BRING THEM BACK FURTHER.
