View Full Version : garage shots only
Since winter is still here for most of us and we can't post any up to date pics of our Nads out there on the road, how about some garage shots. If you are able to ride right now then to be fair for the rest of us, you still have to post a pic of your bike in the garage. Lets see how many members will post...blackiedoghttp://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u319/blackiedog/000_0126.jpg
One of my biggest pet peeves are garage shots. Its almost blasphamey! But I understand where you're comming from so here ya go.......Here's one of me enjoying the new back rest on black betty.

Here's garage #1 (small) where my "Black Betty" lives:
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc218/slhanks4/hosted_photos/image001.jpg
Here's garage #2, where I park my cage and do the heavy wrenching:
http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc218/slhanks4/hosted_photos/image003-1.jpg
I want to especially thank Blackiedog for this idea. Now the world can see how cluttered and junky my garages are. In AZ, basements are uncommon, so I don't have any place to stash a lot of this crap (and my wife won't let me throw it out).

To get condensation, you first have to have moisture in the air....and we have none of that here in the Colorado High & Dry Country. :)
I have the same cover and have never seen any condensation.

What AudioGR said. Here in eastern Colorado we generally think of condensation as something bad Reader's Digest does to good books. I noticed that there are actually a couple vents in the cover, couldn't figure out why they were there but now I know.

Weather has turned crap again over here, rain and more rain :(
http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg273/ianicky/Image008.jpg
I feel for you guys in the snow belt. I really do.
I've lived in Washington, Minnesota, Ohio, New York, and Northern Utah, plus other places where it snows waaaay too much. Now I live in Central California where it has snowed 3 times in the last 30 years. It actually "stuck" once & didn't melt off until the next noon. Our cats & dogs were totally discombobulated by it. It was something they'd never known before or since.
Otherwise, it rains a couple weeks a year here (not contiguous) and an odd day here or there, and the other 350 days a year I get to ride. I do NOT miss dealing with snow. I shoveled way too much of the stuff as a kid, and if I want to see it now I can just drive up the mountain an hour. I rarely bother.
But, what the hey, here's my bike in the garage two years or so back.
(Those are 3 of my 5 grand daughters.)

Boy; some of you guys have some neat layed out garages, like Jussmatt, thats a nice setup. I wish mine was a lot tidier, but I had a couple large projects that Id been working on, and the crap and clutter accumulated. And I hate parting with anything that I may need in the future. I promised myself that I will do something about the mess this summer. Well; we will see.

Thanks Matt. I wish I could take you up on that.
Geeze, you guys all have such clean garages. Mine looks like a cross between a rummage sale and a grease pit covered in cobwebs. I do dust out the cobwebs from time to time, but Fresno is like Spider Central or something. It's all the orchards you know.
Anyhow I'm freakin jealous because I don't have the ambition to clean mine up more often, nor finish the several unfinished projects cluttering up the place. I need a shed so I can shuffle some of this crap outta there. A tool shed: also known hereabouts as an auxuliary spider habitat.
Well, you guys shamed me into spending the day cleaning the garage...Now I've gotta clean my workbench and organize my tool boxes too :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

That's quite the collectiion of plaques and trophies. My favorite color bike as well.Rear tire looks to have 41 lbs of air in it. That is the first Nomad I've seen with a suicide shifter.
LOL, shifter is the handle to my old bike jack settin behind the Nomad. Only one plaque on the wall for the last bike I had, VTX. The biggest part are for a 92 Chevy show truck, a few for a Dakota RT, and a Turbo PT Cruiser. Two from Super Chevy and one from the Editors at Sport Truck mag. Over 100 collecting dust.
This "garage shots only post" seems to be a hit..as it should be, because riding and wrenching go together. After seeing so many clean garages..I'm embarassed showing mine )thanks a lot guys) so I know what I will be doing this weekend after I finish my "next mod." and will repost with new pic...lol..Bdog

It could even be worse. That's my garage. The owner of that Nomad was a pro car mechanic for over 20 years, but he doesn't know Nomads at all. He pretty much bough it, changed the oil, and rode it from Hew Hampshire to California.
Once there he had to watch me tear it all apart & do the tires, brakes, driveshaft, swingarm, & forks, TFI, Baggers, & a Caddmann Kit as well.
He wanted to help, but showed up with a broken rib after a tip-over accident in the gravel while towing a trailer. I could hardly bear to see him lift a wrench. I've done all that stuff twice, so I pretty much just whipped it up on a lift and started ripping off parts as fast as my air wrench would go.
Do you know what it would be like for a pro mechanic to watch someone else do that? Not really knowing if he could get it back together again (what with the rib and all) and being 4000 miles from home? Man, I'm glad I wasn't in his shoes.
