View Full Version : Kawaski Light Bar VS Cobra
Just curious Why nobody really likes Kawasaki's light bar and what is it about Cobra's light bar? I am going to be getting one and would like any suggestions. Thanks!

Cobra is less expensive. Cobra has signal lights out straight instead of hanging down. those were my reasons http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

I think the main reason is $120.00 price difference. Also from what I have heard, Cobra make a lot of the F&S accessories, including the light bar.
The Cobra looked better to me. It's like TC said, the blinker lights go out and not down. The price was better too.

I went with the Kawa light bar, just wanted it to fit right. I found it on line for $305 . However I can't put larger lowers on now. The turn lights will get in the way.
Oh well, can't have everything

I'm trying to figure out what you mean by the turn signals go down on the F&S lightbar. Look at mine, they go straight out????????????

PS, I found my F&S on ebay for $244.95. The dealer wanted $379.95.

From what I've read the Kawa light bar (K32001-011) is made by Cobra but has been approved by Kawa in order to be marketed as a "Fire & Steel" item. Their pitch is that it's made to match the design of the Nomad headlight. I have seen neither the Cobra nor the F&S so I'm just repeating what I have read. There is a big difference in price as mentioned above with MSRP for the F&S being well over $300. However, with a little patience, you can find them on eBay. I just purchased a set this morning for $232.50. That's about what the Cobra's are going for. There are some dealers, too, like Ron Greene Sports Center in Utah that sells for less than MSRP. When I bought larger lowers from Edmunds Enterprises, he specifically asked what type of light bar I planned to use and made a distinction between the Cobra and the F&S.

Your bar looks like mine oldbiker. I have seen bars that hang the turn signals straight down. I thought the F&S was one of them.
That being said, If both bars are the same why would anyone pay more just because it is a kawasaki product. I got my bar on Ebay for $205.

I got this light bar. I like it better than the others. It is not really a bar, and it does not force you to move the turn signals.

It is very simple to install. It does not cause any changes to the existing turn signals or bar. I like the way it looks.
You basically replace one of the windshield bolts with one that comes with the kit and wire and route the wires and this is it.
