Mississippi Gulf coast ride

We talked about a weekend ride to the coast, I talked to zoom45 and that guy has a lot going on but would try to make it I have suggested the weekend of the 13th maybe leave on the 12th so now y'all let me know what you want to do if we get enough people we will do this.

Ya'll schedule it and I'll work it in if possible. I'm ready for it too! My problem now is my kid's dirt track racing starts March so that kind of puts the screws to my riding on Saturdays. (I'm his mechanic and body man). I have guard drill the first weekend in March but can ride some during the week, a few hours on a Saturday or all day Sundays. I'm off every other Monday too (off this coming Monday). I can get to the coast in about 3 hours.

Jim, We are shutting down the plant on the 1st and will be down for 10 days. That will put me working from the 1st through who knows when. My nearest weekend off will be the weekend of the 27th. Y'all go on and plan without me. I don't want to hold the entire bunch up. We can always do this again.

Waiting for the drizzle to quit. Myself and a co worker are riding the LA coast to the Texas line today and doubling back on LA-14. Gonna be cold but we don't care.

My bike is red and black. I think it looks a bit orange because of the lighting. This picture was taken at the dealership with the sun shinning through the front windows and with my cell phone.

I am hoping to be able to make the trip to Eureka Springs. Its a little too far out to make plans. I'm also trying to get a few of the guys that i ride with to go. One of them rides a 1500 Nomad and the other a 1600 Classic.

Ok, I can ride to the coast this weekend if anyone wants to meet up and go. I can take off and leave Friday or either go Saturday morning. I just need to be back home Sunday by noon. I plan on going from Jackson down Hwy 49, stop at Hattiesburg cycles to look around then go on to the coast. Weather should be good for riding. (Jim & Jamie didn't you want to go?)

I'm about 45 minutes away from Canton. I now live in the big town of Eden where I grew up, about 10 miles north of Yazoo City on Hwy 49. You just tell me what time to get there Jim and I'll be there. Sounds like a plan Bobby and Jim. Looking forward to it. Bobby, we'll come up with a more definite time later in the week. We can call ya when we leave Canton and we should be in Richland in 30 minutes. I'm guessing to shoot for mid-morning on Saturday then. I'll be ready whenever.

Mitch, this kind of makes up a little for us guys not being able to make it to the Texas ride next month. It's killing me not to make that one. But I'll catch up with the rest of y'all at Eureka Springs and Antlers....................Jim and Bobby, it's supposed to be 45 Friday night and low to mid 60's. If we leave early enough we could hit Hattiesburg mid-morning and get a bite to eat maybe at the Shoney's breakfast buffet. We always stop there on our way to Gulf Shores every year for breakfast. Just an idea. The earlier the better, I guess, and Jim I could meet ya in Winona instead of Canton. Give your butt a break for a minute before we meet Bobby in Richland. Jamie

Around 8, I guess Jim, that would give us a pretty good start unless you want to meet earlier. You tell me and I'll be there. I'm about 1 1/4 hours away from there and Bobby will be waiting for us to come through Richland. So name a time and I'll get there. Won't be too cold Saturday morning, anyway.

Bobby, we're looking at between 9 and 10 Saturday morning. We'll pinpoint it a little closer before Saturday. One thing, though. Do we need to make reservations somewhere for Saturday night? If we do, it might be a good idea to go ahead and figure out what city we'll stay at because Spring Break starts Saturday for most schools I think and it might be crowded and hard to find motels at the last minute because of all the school kids. Whatever y'all think.

Grand baby is due April 15 + or - whatever. I am sure grandma will have plans for April that don't include motorcycle trips. I can't complain to much as Liz paid off my bike last January. So what grandma wants grandma gets.

I may try to get a room Saturday night at the military base if one is available. If they don't have one I may shoot for the Best Western across the street from the Beau Rivage. A no frills Motel 6 on hwy 49 at the airport road red light had some rooms available for $57. I need to leave early Sunday morning so I can go home and get my truck then go to my son's at Nesbit in north MS that afternoon. Saturday will have to be my riding/socializing day.

Right on hwy 49 near Southern Miss. It is Hattiesburg Cycles. They recently added on a new building. It's huge.

When you get to the redlight by Wal-Mart at Richland turn left and pull in by their gas station. I'll be parked where I can see you. There's a Burger King right beside it if Jamie needs something to eat. LOL.

I'm packed and the bike is ready to go. Will pull out at 5:30 in the morning to meet Jim in Winona. It's been 75 to 80 all week and now the high tomorrow is in the high 50's. But I won't complain much. Got plenty of leather. See y'all in the morning.

Had fun on the ride with ya'll and hope you made it home ok. I saw you pull off at the watermelon store but I had to get going so I could load my truck when I got home. I saw the red Nomad at Star, MS on the way back but couldn't catch up with him. We need to find out if he knows about this site. I'll catch him sooner or later. My ole 1500 ran perfect the entire trip. I guess the bug I had in it fixed itself after I stripped the bike and put it back together the last time.
