Hi, I’m looking to purchase a 1500 or 1600 Nomad that’s in excellent condition. I prefer to have one with somewhat low miles in the years 2001 on up. Black is my first choice and beige my second but I can live with most any color as long as it’s in excellent condition and the price is right. I want to pay between $4000 and $7500. I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota so we would have to arrange someway for me to pick it up. I’m not going to ask to write you a personal check or for you to accept a certified check or money order or an IOU. I just sold my harley so I will be paying cash. I’ve looked on eBay, Craigs list, cycle trader and there are many nice bikes out there, but I’ve yet to find “The One”. Please contact me at: rounseville@hotmail.com if you might have what I’m looking for. I would appreciate it if you could send a photo or two along with the description and price of the bike you have for sale. Thank you, Jody

If I remember correctly about 3 months ago there was an 08 Nomad on here for $7,000 which was an absolute steal. Do a search, you might find it.

There you go Dakota. I just shopped for a Nomad last August and I wish I had come across that deal.

I guess I can close this thread because I've made a commitment to a guy from Tulsa Ok, for a 2000 Nomad with less then 30,000 miles...I will be picking it up on the 27th...I'm so excited I had to put my rubber underwear on just in case...Thank you for all the replies, Jody

What colour is the Nomad? I have a really nice set of engine guard covers that would fit on the 2000. Take a look at the post that says Unique Engine Guard covers.

If that one don't work out, try this one. I know nothing about it other then the mileage isn't bad.

I'm not sure Rick. And talk is cheap! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif It may not be in the cards this year but if the right deal came along, ya never know. There have been several good buys right here on our forum for good used 08's. I brought my bike and a couple others in from the USA so I would not be adverse to doing it again! Lets see....hmmm...Canadian dollar around $.95 versus USD today. I trade currencies and there is an opinion par and even higher is in the loonies future! :) That may help me make a decision.

Good for you Mike. I saw a new Voyager posted here not that long ago for something like $14,000 if I'm not mistaken. Anyone reading this remember?

Beautiful colour; I've only ever seen one Nomad that colour, ridden by a guy named Six Pack from Georgia. We never saw that colour in Canada, it was a US colour only.

I can get purple acrylic spots that would look really nice with the purple mica Nomad.

Wow, the story must be really good! How can you only put on 195 miles in 10 years? Hmmmmmmm..... I'm interested...

The gentleman that's selling it to me received it from his wife and children for his 50th birthday and broke his shoulder from a construction accident shortly afterwards and was unable to ride. He sounds like a real nice person who no longer is able to ride it and decided to sell it this spring...I will post pictures when I get it home on Friday, thanks again...Jody

No, it's a 2000 and has the steel gear....
It must have had a 99 motor and the POG went out so it sat for the last 10 years !

What a deal. That has to be the lowest mileage I have ever seen on a 10 year old bike.

It's been sitting in someone's garage for 10 years? Have it checked out real good, the seals are probably all dried out.

Good point...and tires cracked, fluids dried up, upholstery possibly dried, CJ is right....check it out real good. I hope it turns out to be a great bike.

I saw one on Craigslist in MD when I was searching with searchtempest yesterday. Brand new 2008 with full warranty at a dealer for $9995, I thought that was a great deal.

That is a good deal. Just picked up my 2000 nomad from Ft. Collins yesterday so the search is over...I couldn't believe that it only had 195 miles on it...Put it on the lift today and gave it a new transusion, oil, gear lube, brake fluid, now just have to change out the anti freeze...I drove over 300 miles to get it after seeing it on craigslist not knowing what to expect. Got it home and it looks like it just came off the showroom floor (in the year 2000)...Now I just need some decent weather...I would like to post some photos on here but not really sure how...Thanks again for all the replys. Jody

You just missed our Rally in Custer last summer. Bad timing I guess.

Actually it was good timing because I rode past a flock of Nomads while visiting Custer on my Harley since I lived close by...I believe it was at a Restaurant (Chief?) on Main Street...But since I traded my harley off it would have been a blast joining the group...The Black Hills is truly enjoyable for riding...Jody
