I just don't understand why Missouri Vulcan riders can't get together. The newly started Mid-MO VROC group appears to be dying or already dead. No one but me has posted on there board since Christmas. Yesterday the Pres. of Gateway VROC in St. Louis emailed me and asked Liz and I to join them. And this morning all the pictures have been removed from the Mid-MO web site. Missouri has over 650 VROC members and they can't make something work. Maybe when I joined I scared the rest of them off!

Got an email this morning from the group pres. He claims that the lack of posts is because it is winter and that things will pick up soon. I am sure not going to hold my breath to see. Rick, Teresa, Liz and I have gotten along without a local group and it is not like we NEED one now. I just thought it would be fun to have some local Vulcan get togethers.

You would think with the weather and more people inside that they would be on the computer more. To me that shows lack of interest. Just my thoughts.

I agree 100% with you Al. Just look at our board here. It may not be all be motorcycle stuff but people on here everyday with something. I ask about bike project anyone was thinking about doing, trips they where planning for next year, etc. I left blogs open for comments after I posted what some of our plans for this year was. I posted about the different VROC rallies to attend. I posted about KawaNOW thinking I might find some Nomad owners that would be interested. I posted pictures of some of our trips and of our bikes. Made offers for people to ride with us. A person can only do so much.
I am now wondering if maybe I did to much and just overwhelmed them by talking about all the things Liz and I have done the last few years. Maybe they thought we are mad bikers or something. I do sometimes get overly enthused about things I am interested in. But I was just trying to spark some intrest.

I think you did enough, probably time to move on.

You did all you could Jim. The rest is up to them. My son had started a forum for the local club we belonged to. It started off with 20-30 posts a day and dwindled down to 1 or 2 a week. Lasted about 5 months and my son took it down.

Really sounds like they just didn't know how to handle a forum and couldn't handle a couple of real riders.
I agree with Chainsaw. Weather and season does come into play a little bit when it comes to forum frequency, but if a club is really set on being cohesive, they've got to want to be a part.
You tried your best Jim. Noone can fault you or Liz for that. I'd give you guys an "A" for effort and move on.

Thanks guys for the comments. Since I last posted on the site the pres has been posting daily. My guess is he is trying to spark some intrest himself. I am just going to keep my fingers quiet for awhile and see what happens.

I'm new to KawaNow but would like to meet a few riders in the KC area. The rally in Eureka Springs sounds fun but I'm not sure I can make it since it may conflict with another ride I'm already planning. If you shut this chapter down let me know where I belong next!

Check in on the members page. I know there are a few riders in your area.

Brassmonkey you belong right here! We all have lots of fun either on the boards, at Rallies or on rides. Let me know when you have some free time this spring and maybe we can meet up someplace. Don't let problems with a local club keep you enjoying this group. I believe that things happen for a reason. There used to be a VROC group in KC and it went defunked. And the group in St Louis grows and shrinks as problems and personalities arise and conflicts develop. Mid-MO VROC is just starting out and it will either go or fold depending on the leaders and members. The more invloved the group stays with in it's self the better chance it has. And the group needs to have a simular mind set to always fall back on. There will always be conflicts but friends will always be there for each other. Like KawaNOW there is a love for our Nomads that pulls us together. The same with the Drifter Group or Rouge Group. You have to do what is right for you! But if you get a chance come on down to ES for the South Central Group Rally.

You are in the right place KawaNOW is not going any where if we can help it, I know that peternomad is from KC and Watchman is not to far from you. If you can make it come on down to Eureka Springs I know you would have a good time.

brassmonkey, I'm in Overland Park and would definitely enjoy meeting up to ride (once it warms up a little). We've been up around Leavenworth but haven't really explored much on the Mo side of the line.

Yesterday when I pulled up the Mid Mo VROC site to check for posts there was no site to be found. I guess the owner of the site pulled it. Not enough intrest locally I guess. So what is the old song " I got along without ya before I met ya, goin get along without you now!"
