Just wondering how many are daily riders (to / from work etc) or just weekender ( two day trips longer mileage) ?
I hope to do both every day and longer trips weather permitting..

Both.
I do a minimum of 60 miles each weekday. Weekends vary.
I only use my car when it rains or I need to haul something that won't fit on the Nomad.
My pickup hasn't been driven in so long I've got to replace the battery. Maybe one of the weekends when I don't ride I'll do that. Nah , probably not.

I ride to work everyday the weather allows. The only time I don't ride to work when the weather is nice is if I need to take my test kit/tools. I always have my laptop though. Mac 17" MacBook Pro. Just fits in the saddle bag.
Both. If it isnt rainin' I'm riding.
I just replaced the starter on my truck because it plumb forgot how. Not entirely true, but the breaking point on the OEM '92 Ford starter was 102K miles.

Neither, I put the bike in the shed last November and haven't rode it since. I'm a fair weather rider.

I'd like to ride to work most days, but I usually only ride on Fridays because I can wear jeans. Mon-Thu I wear Dockers, which not only look funny with my riding boots, but they are very thin and don't offer much protection. If there was a locker room or some decent changing facilities at work I might take a change of clothes with me.
I have about a 15 mile one-way commute, and in the summer when I leave the house at 06:30, it's usually over 95 degrees by then. There's something to be said for the air conditioned comfort of my car.

Man, do I have the opposite problem here. Even in summer when it gets into the 90s during the day I still need a leather jacket w/ liner at that time of day! It can start out a day like that in the 50s.

I ride the bike everywhere I can as long into the season as possible. I only use the truck when I have to. this year winter came early and I had to park it Nov 20. last year I rode until Jan 10. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Me too Ringadingh. I usually ride through November if the weather holds and am back out occasionally in Feb and March. Rode last weekend and will take another short ride tomorrow.
Still too cold to ride to work though. Still in the teens and 20s when I go in the morning.

I try to ride weather permitting. However, like audio it is quite chilly yet this time of year. One issue that I have to look out for is rain. Have a 1.3 mile ride on gravel to get home. Last time I rode it when it was wet, well lets say try riding a greased pig.

I ride to work and back if it's not raining and usually some on the weekends. I've got cold weather gear and have been able to ride all winter. So far the coldest temps have been in the low 30s. I'm getting to like cold weather riding as long as it isn't wet and cold.

Ride all the time. New job two hours away, dont get to ride to work no more. There is something about trying to carry starched uniforms two hours on a bike that just dont work out.

cant ride to work, I am a salesman and have to have that "business look" during the work day, and carry crap when I go to my customers

Both. Ride home in the rain sometimes. Generally don't head out in sub-freezing temps if they are expected to stay that low. Ride on!

I had that same problem, didn't solve it till last year.
I bought a too large pair of ballistic nylon, armored riding pants. I put them over my dress pants and ride to work.
When I get to work, rather than locking the door and stripping down to change, I just take off my boots and slide the riding pants off and slip into dress shoes. It works out so much easier.
On the first winter I had my Nomad I put stabil in the tank, then rode that gas out. Put stabil back in, and rode it out. I did that a few more time through out the winter, and then decided that I must be a winter rider.
I've not put fuel stabilizer in since. I ride often enough, even in Salt Lake and Denver to never have gas sitting for more than a month.
In the summer I rarely use the car, ride to work, grocery shopping, and on days off go on usually 300 mile day rides for pleasure.

Daily - average 1500 miles a month year round. Summer average about 2500 miles a month. I thought I'd save on fuel cost, but I didn't consider I'd be going twice a far?
I ride as often as I can. 03 Meanstreak has 47,000 miles on it, 05 Nomad has 38,000 miles.

If there is no snow and ice on the road I'm on the bike. Ride it to work, run errands, fishing trips. It is my favorite vehicle to get to church on Sunday, the parishioners love it when I show up in helmet and leathers with everything I need in the saddle bags. Idaho is a large state and Diocesan meetings across the street give me an opportunity to ride some more. I have noticed that the tranny in the Bronco does not work too well when winter hits until I put a few miles on it to get things moving again. On weekends I look for places to go on the bike. Wife and I will jump on it and ride for 10 to 75 miles to go to dinner. I definitely use more gas with the bike than the Bronco but I go a lot more places.

Audio, it doesn't really cool down here at night during summer. We experience what they call the "heat island effect". Normally, the desert cools down at night, but all the clay tile roofs, stucco exteriors, concrete and asphalt absorb the heat during the day and then release the heat at night.
One of the weirdest things when we first moved here was going outside at 11:00PM or Midnight and it's still 105 outside. Your brain tells you when it gets dark, it's supposed to cool off. Not here. So the coolest time of day, just prior to sunrise, it is still in the mid-high 90's. There's not much relief from the heat from June-September. You need to get a fair distance from the metro area if you want to have it cool down at night.
This time of year is the prime riding season in these parts. 50's at night, 80's during the day. It almost makes up for summer.

I feel all the northerners winter pain but here in the south all we have to really worry about is the rain and we haven't had much of that in the last few years.
I know little of the dress suit attire but can relate to the material transportation/tools end.
Can't wait till May/June till I get mine to ride.
Thanks
Well, until I smashed my leg up, I WAS a daily rider! Heheheheh! I'm just counting the days 'til I can get back on.

weekends! I only have like 8 blocks to work and feel it wouldn't warm up properly in that distance. I'm thinking about getting a small scooter and running that back and forth to save on my dakota.

I ride work everyday rain or shine, though snow and ice stop me through the winter... I had to chip ice off 50' of alley just to take it out for a spin around the neighborhood yesterday.. Only 3c out so it was a short ride.
As far as clothes, I wear everything from a suit to jeans with my leather and chaps overthem without a problem. Though you get some funny looks when you strip off all the leather and have a suit underneath.
Cheers
Bruce.
Daily, when I can. Snow now. But normally, I ride to work, ride during work and ride on the weekends.

Then ride a few miles farther. It's a good excuse to get some riding in.

Ride to work every day unless heavy rain. Try to ride after work, with or without G/F, to some destination or just nowhere. Weekends depend on plans or my kids coming every other weekend. Of course this snow changes my riding schedule. Now I ride whenever I can which is about 1 hour every two weeks. No long distance yet. This summer will be different.

Ride 30 miles round trip daily spring, summer and fall, except rainy days or need to haul something bigger than the Nomad will carry. I try to get out at least a half day on the weekends, after the honeydoos, of course.
About 35 total each day, and I try to get a pleasure ride in on weekends.
