Here is the first look at my freshly-installed ACE 3" risers. I wanted to try them out, so I headed south on the indian reservation near my house where there is a decent road and 65 MPH posted limit. Went about 20 miles total. I think I'm going to like these!

In case anyone wants to try a set of these, I read in the Nomad Shop Manual that the handlebar clamp bolts should be torqued to 25 ft lbs and so should the riser mounting bolts. For the handlebar clamp caps, torque the front bolts down, then torque the rear, the front of the clamp should show no gap, the rear will show a gap. The book specifies using 2-cycle oil on the threads, I just used some 3 in 1.

They look good on there, when I installed my risers I found that they worked loose after a while. I cured the problem by using red loctite on the threads. Now they stay tight.

Looks good CJ... Still looking into the PhatII...but if $$ gets tight, I'm thinking I'll give that a try. Those of you that have done this...didn't I read that it pulls the bars back about an inch? One of the reasons why I'm leaning towards the P2's is the two inches it says it'll give you. Hell...we all can use extra inches!?!?! LOL!.... Figured I better say it before SWB/Todd/Nico/BD jumps in!!

I just ordered the phat II's. Same reason you mentioned Matt; I want them back a bit. No reason to discard the other mods, I'm just long legged and need to be leaned back more than the average human.

In fact, where the hell are those things? I ordered them a while back?

Somewhere between Zebulon NC and Anaheim CA....been to both places ....brother.....you would laugh if you knew what a small little town Zebulon was. Seriously, they are usually pretty good about getting stuff out quick though...and you can give a call to check too.

Just received them today. First inpression -- heavy.

I'll do the install tomorrow. So many people on this sight have done it and offered very well detailed instructions and advice, it seems easy. I'll let you know how that goes.
