Here's the switch and garage door remote I installed so all I have to do is hit the button coming down the street.
The switch.

The key fob remote. I opened it up and added two wires that go to the switch.

and the key fob remote is hidden by the new windshield bag I just installed.

That looks really clean!
I have one of the older style garage openers that have no small remotes available. When this one breaks down, I'll do an install like that.

Very nice job on the opener. I'm impressed. What kind of windshield bag do you have?

That is a nice clean install. I like the bag-hidden remote approach.
I'm still stopping and reaching inside my windshield bag to open my garage door. First time I'm really in a hurry or caught in a bad rain I'll be wishing I had your approach!

Nice job Bobzinger..Wish I had that talent..
I also installed my garage door opener. Had some time on a Saturday to complete the installation. No drilling required. Stays put even at interstate speeds....

Good idea Bob, I put mine on with velcro to the bottom of my fairing, its almost invisible, but there when I need it.
I use a keyless entry keypad
I have to get off the bike and punch in the code.

I use the "get off the bike and punch in the code" door opener. Works every time.

That bag is a Hopnel velcro bag. I bought it off ebay for $47 shipped. Here's a link to the same thing on Cruiser Customizing.

Bob, thanks for the reply on the windshield bag. The picture shows what appears to be a plastic piece with slots cut to mount it to a windshield bar. How well did that match up to the Nomad windshield?
As usual, bobzinger has done an excellent job on his garage door opener.........I, on the other hand, am kind of lazy so............
As you may know, I have a pair of hard bag chaps on my Nomad. I also got the chaps with front pockets....so, I bought an extra Genie garage door opener, programmed it and slid it into the left pocket. To open the garage, all I have to do is reach slightly behind me to my left and hit the button through the pocket.

Thanks to people like our esteemed leader, I went and spent more money on the bike last night. Wasn't going to, promised myself I wasn't going to...but then the motorcycle devil jumped into my brain and convinced me that I need those protectors.
So now I have protectors on the way. Boy, my wife is going to be mad at you. http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif

Actually the bag I used is for Harley, but I liked the mounting better. No Slots

I used a hole punch and put new holes in the plastic backer for the Nomad windshield bolts. I also slotted the plastic backer to fit around the Nomads brackets that go down to the forks.
