Just joined the site and am in need of the hard saddle bag brackets. Please let me know if you have 1 piece or a complete set. If I have to put a set together, I will do that. Any help would be appreciated.
Also looking for a used V&H Dual exhaust or Cobra Dual Exhaust. Mufflers can be damaged, only really want the forward pipes, going a different route on mufflers. Thanks guys.

Keep a watch on ebay, as a set sold about a week or two ago for under 75.00 bukcs for the whole set.

Isn't it nice when the young'uns help us old people; typing really big so we can see it better.

I've been watching ebay. I spoke with Lee at Vulcan Brackets and he is going to make me a set after Christmas if nothing else comes up.
I'm glad I could help with typing large enough for everyone to read without bifocals. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Even better, it is great to know that someone got Lee to return a call. I tried him for three months before having a set of brackets made locally.

What are bag brackets?

The brackets on ebay, do not look correct for what I think I need. They say they are for an 06 model, but there are no holes with grommets for the saddle bag to sit down in when mounting, so I am unsure if they will work for me.

I think if you look closly you will see there are holes there but they have the rubber gromets in them making them hard to see.
If they are for a 1600 Nomad they will fit.
There is 3 days left on the auction. Email the guy and ask him about the holes.

Those brackets are NOT for a Nomad or off one.

Unless they are from a 2009 1700cc

That is what I was thinking about the brackets on ebay. They do not look like the standard brackets that are on the Kawasaki Microfiche. I think I will retract my bid.

I didn't know they made a 1700cc Nomad in 2007 ???
I emailed the guy and will post his answer as soon as I get a reply.
I went out and looked at mine, I have a 2007 1600 and they don't look like mine.

The 1700 Nomad didn't start until 2009 and the brackets for the 1700 are not like the ones on ebay. I've talked to the guy on ebay when he first listed them and he said these were the only brackets removed when they did the trike conversion. If they removed the bags for the trike conversion, they would have the third bracket that bolts to both brackets and there seems to be no provision on the ones pictured on ebay. I say they are for something else. Its funny since he is selling Nomad bags and bodyparts.

Yes I find it weird for sure indystreetracer. But I do know those brackets don't look anything close to what I have on my 1500 and I do know for sure the 1600's are the same too. He might want to check what he has out some more and redo his listing.

Here is the email I got back from him when I asked if he was sure they came off a 2006 Nomad.

Yes, 06 nomad. The hole are there, the rubber grommets are not. Note; the cross-member that connects these 2 brackets (running under the rear fender) is not included.

Ok I will give him that , but the pic he has is not a set of brackets for the Nomad bags. I do know that much.

I agree with Joe the brackets on e-bay are not like the ones on my 05.

What I think is this guy took his bike in for Ins. work and they gave him the parts back and he didnt get the right brackets or the owner of the shop kept parts from a job and selling them to make $$$$$$$$$'s and thinking they came off the Nomad.
There is a mix-up there for sure.

I emailed the seller to let him know that the brackets he has are not for a Nomad. I also gave him a link to an ended auction for a complete set of brackets, so he know what the are supposed to look like.

You are correct, those are the brackets for the Nomad bags!

Hope he corrects his listing before someone buys them and then finds out they are not what they thought.

Well the auction ended earlier today. I was high bidder at $75.00 but I retracted my bid last night, since the brackets are not correct. I'm curious to see what his response is.

Looks like patience has paid off, I found a set of brackets on ebay from a salvage dealer for $125.00. Also found another set of Nomad bags for me to use that are painters, so I will be selling a set of bags as soon as my other arrive.

You got some special project going on, ISR? What's the reason for needing different bags and brackets?

Yes, this is a project. I ride a Mean Streak 1500 and am installing the Nomad bags and exhaust on my bike. As you can see in the picture, the Harley Batwing fairing is installed, as are the Nomad Floorboards, Nomad front fender

I have an '06 and the guy is smoking something illegal. Those are not off a late model Nomad.

Very nice looking ride. We will need to see pics of the finished project.
It ought to be a fun ride.
