Ok, now that I am finally being drug kicking and screaming into the 20th century...

In the past three weeks, I have found a use for a GPS/mapping/path unit

*thanks Matt

In any case, I think I'd like a weatherproof unit that I can attach to my existing Ram mount that has maps that can be updated, can interface with Google Earth both import and export and can easily input waypoints along a rout so the path I travel can be mapped and exported to Google Maps.

I know some of you are using these units. I currently have a Garmin Etrex I used for hunting just to mark feeders, etc. I anticipate buying a new unit, but I'd rather it be reasonable in cost. I don't need voice -

Any recomendations?

Check with Trip. He uses those more than anyone I've seen here.

I have a Garmin Zumo 450 and am happy with its performance. The web updater that they've implemented works very well. The first time I ran it I even received some new capability via new screens. The unit is waterproof and good for extended immersion in water up to 1 meter deep. I hope to never put my bike in a situation to test that claim! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
