Have to give props to Cape Cod Harley Davidson. Friday morning I was getting ready to leave my hose to attend a funeral with the PGR in N. Attleboro MA, about 40 miles from home, when I noticed my rear tire was low on air. It was 6 am and about 35 degrees, so I decided to fill it and deal with it later. it seemed to hold up well, until after the funeral when I noticed it was down again, filled it again and a LEO on duty at the funeral gave me directions to a local bike shop. It turned out to be out of business. I decided to head to the Cape, about 60 miles, and try to get it looked at there as we were heading to the National Cemetery for the internment and I was a little more familiar with the area. When I arrived on Cape I rolled into Cape Cod Harley hoping they could recommend someone to checkout my bike. I have heard so many negative stories about Harley dealers not being willing to help out metric riders I wasn't even going to ask them to check it out.
Not only did they pull some one off another bike to take a look at mine, once they found the 2 inch sliver of aluminum in my tire the replaced the tire and had me back on the road in time to get to the cemetery and for the internment.
Maybe the fact that I was in the middle of a PGR mission influenced how I was treated, but they could not have been more helpful.
At my local Kawa shop I would have been waiting a week to get a tire.

You know, not all Harley dealers or riders are total jerks. Unfortunately, the images that stick in our memories are the jerks who make asinine comments or actions against other riders based solely on the fact they aren't riding a Harley. Thank you for mentioning this dealership and telling us your story.

The harley dealership here in town is by far the most out going and friendly dealership around the valley.

Glad to hear it worked out for you.
I don't suppose being with the PGR hurt anything... but it is my guess from my experience that most of what you hear about HD dealers is undeserved. My experience with them has been just fine, if not exceptional.

Greg, for the price they charge they should give you some foreplay. Make that "Exceptional" forplay!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I assume you mean Lindon HD? I read the other day they are in bankruptcy.

Yep. Last I heard is that SLC dealership is going to purchase it.
Hopefully it doesn't close. It's a very cool dealership.

Mike Bruno's Bayou Country HD went alot further to help me find a substitute gasket for my radiator drain plug than my dealership did last week. The parts and sales people there are very friendly and easy to access by phone. It's nearly impossible to get anyone from parts on the phone at my dealer. No problem to get a salesperson on the phone though....you have to fight them off.

Hey Utah! Is that the new Tempanogas HD Dealership you are talking about? That is a nice dealership but sure is pricey. 300 miles to the north of me but I've stopped in there a few times with my brother who is a HD rider.

Great story! Most are right, few notice when someone does something good,
but everyone notice when someone does something bad! Thanks for sharing!
I own a Harley also and the H/D dealer is way more friendly and helpful than the metric dealer I go to. I try to avoid the metric place after they steered me wrong on a few simple items I was looking for. I use H/D oil in my Nomad in the summer months and have bought some bulbs I needed for the Nomad at the H/D dealer. So it goes to show you, there are some good ones out there.
