I am like a kid who just opened a Christmas gift he's been hoping for, for a whole yr.. in my case a couple of yrs..

I just pretty much sealed a deal with Cory aka "Strobe", to purchase his fairing he had on his Nomad. It's all and more than I always wanted in a fairing. It has three gauges {clock, fuel, tach, volts}. Alpine Marine MP3 stereo with the RF remote and DIN stereo adapter, 9" light smoke windshield, HD headlight assembly, chrome windshield trim, HD wind deflectors, He also included the modified chrome plate that goes behind the stock headlight. etc. etc. etc..
He has put a lot into making "his project" a first class one. I'm lucky to have made the purchase. Like I said to Cory, It's something I've wanted since I first came upon "Gadget's site", and saw the Nomad on his frt. page. Anyway,....I just had to tell someone.

I wanted to also incl. this photo but for some reason it only put the one photo up. This shows the orig. tach that was replaced. I'll post photos when it's installed. Cory was also nice enough to included installation. That won't be till the summer when it's warmer and I ride to <s>Calgary</s>...Medicine Hat or as it's known to the locals ...
"The Hat.

Thanks for all your congratulations. Like I said earlier, I'm just "tickled F&%#ing pink about this. It'll be a while before the pictures. I have to somehow get through winter and then ride it to "the hat" where Cory said he'd install it for me. What a great guy!! If any of you have had the pleasure of dealing with him you know exactly what I mean.
So until the spring I'll be dream'in of riding with the fairing.
Thanks again

Just so happens I will be in "the Hat" on the 16th. Won't have my scoot with me, but if I did Rick I would gladly have Stobe attach on my ride so I could bring it back to you ( maybe ).
Hey Strobe, if you like, why don't we hook up on the Sunday night? I will be at the Best Western around 5.00

It's my understanding that Cory is keeping the Nomad for
"round town/shorter trips". I think he was thinking about an ST-1300 not sure if he's made that purchase yet. I'm sure he'll jump in here.

Thanks again to everyone for your congrats.

I still have the Nomad, it's fate has not yet been decided, but a lot of the accessories are off it now given that it if I do keep it, it will not be my main highway bike.

When I get some time soon I will post a list of stuff that I am selling from it. I sold a few items already like the Russell Seat, fairing, and a TFI that I tried at one point, but there is a lot more. All I can say is when you buy stuff here and there you don't realize what it costs, it was a shock when I added it all up.

I purchased a '07 ST1300 with 9700km a couple months ago. Here is a picture of the new (to me) bike:

Yes its unreal how expensive our "want" mode can be eh. My best buddy went from a 1500 classic to the st 1300 and loves it. He put slip-ons on it and it made a nice difference in appearance and sound. I'm sure your going to put lots of kms on that baby ..way to go Cory

what's that Mike? An ST-1300 or a fairing for the Nomad? The fairing will cost you a lot less. ;)

Understand you can get 300 mi per tank with the 1300. Couldn't see my wife being comfortable on the back of it though. Especially for three hundred non-stop miles. Could be the beginning of the end....but then I'd have to train a new one.

With the right bike, or more specifically the right seat, 300 miles is not an issue. I would never typically ride that far without a stop, but in the case of the ST it now means I stop where I want to stop, not where I have to stop, that is a big difference. :)

Ever since you helped me with my trunk install (inspiration), I've been trying to keep up with you, on your upgrades... but now you've gone and done it. Damm you, now I have to put my children to work so I can get a fairing like you... Congrats Vince in Idaho. P.S... spend another 100.00 and get a heater for your shop so you can get that thing on BEFORE summer. I'm working on the Caddmann kit / Reed Valve/Coaster this weekend and it is 34 degree F outside.
