Should never have listened to the wife. Now she knows for sure that you have selective hearing loss when you choose not to hear her. Was going in there what you would call "ON A WING AND A PRAYER" or was it "WINGING IT". Enjoy the ride.

I tried to warn you good people about the Honda Wing-Ding fever. I should say I told you so, but I won't. I hope I'm not breaking any rules, but here goes. This is a few Wing sites I visit.

None are as sophisticated as Kawa-Now. But still a lot of information & good folks too.
Like a Harley, what you bought is a starter kit. Now you have to go out & farkle it up. Good Luck with your new Goldwing....-Rich

Congratulations on the purchase of the Goldwing. They are great bikes. I owned an '83 back in '83 through '86 or so. It didn't have near the gadgets on it that the newer ones have. Enjoy.

When I had my Wing the wife and I went into the dealer to buy the kids a helmet for Christmas.
Bought the helmet and the Wing. The wife kept saying, "Just sit on the Wing and see how you like it." Loved it and the rest is history.

i really think it's great that there is no wing bashing on here. here's my perspective on a new wing. i have an 08 that i bought new over a year ago.they are awesome bikes, the best there is for the long haul. i also have an 08 nomad and a v-star 1300 touring. if i had to choose only one for a keeper it would be a hard decision. i would probably go with the nomad. the reason being, i have bad legs and find the floor boards more comfortable. and i still want that nostalgic motorcycle look. so i am going to keep all three for now. a wing is by far not a geezer bike. the group i ride with, venture riders push there bikes to the limit and we ride them in the twisties to the limit. the corners of my highway boards are ground off. the wing will out run most bikes on the road accept for crotch rockets and sport touring bikes, and have sport bike like handling. for the long haul it has the ultmate in luxury bar none. what i am saying, if you want a wing, go for it but don't be to quick to dump your v-twin. keep it if you can you will have the best of both worlds. bill

wantakaw59 (jim) <<<<Wants to be put in Bill's Last Will and Testament!!
Quick note about what my neighbor calls his "800 lb crotch rocket"(2002 Wing). When a buddie (H.D. Road Glide) and myself (Honda 1100) did the Dragons' Tail in Tenn. this year, we were politely asked to allow their group of Wingers to pass us cause we were slowing them down!! We tried our hardest to keep up, but didn't have a chance!! NOT a geezer bike at'll !! JMHO Hope you come back here a few times a year to tell us of your exploits...jim

i have ridden the dragon on my venture and to go like that guy on the wing you would have to know it by heart. i followed a friend on a wing through some of the other curves in georgia and nc he was dragging metal. the venture was really wallering in the curves. could'nt stay with him in some of them. i never have ridden it on my wing. was going to this summer but had to cancel. that guy is one hell of a wing rider. bill

The wing is a nice bike, but I don't like the seating position. My wife said it was nice, but liked other bike about as well. It is just not my style, so I don't plan going to a wing anytime soon. Our Pastor at church bought a wing after riding an older Kaw Voyager. He likes it, but feels top heavy and to tall, he is considering going to a HD UC.

i haven't been riding my wing lately cuz the newness has'nt worn off my nomad. i took the wing for a long ride yesterday to warm the oil up for an oil change, and take a sample for an oil analysis. i was honestly thinking about dumping the wing in the spring, to many bikes to ride and maintain. then after my ride i told my wife no way the wing is here to stay. it is definately a couch rocket. got a few more long runs left in me, and i'm going to need it for the long haul. i'm awful lucky to have the choice of rides i have, but thats what i worked hard all my life for. sure is alot of work keeping up with them. they all get rode almost weekly.
