Well, Not that it matters, but I thought I'd post on my recovery. I had an open bankhart repair and 6 months to the day of surgery I completed rehab. I tried to ride the Nomad once or twice during rehab, but the shoulder just wasn't strong enough. I finally was able to ride the other day on one of our last nice days---about 48 degrees. I only made it about 5 miles. I nearly froze.

So, I am thinking 2009 is in the books with 2 official "rides" totalling about 21 miles. Now I have to look at winterizing the bike. The gas was "stabilized" at the end of last year and has been sitting nearly a full year in the tank. Anyone have any suggestions on draining a Nomad tank (and a C50 tank). I'm not keen on letting the gas sit for 2 winters.

Thoughts?

Hi TKD...glad to hear you are back with the functioning...even if it is slow and painful. I am not sure what the easiest way to drain the tank is...fortunately I haven't had to do it yet.

Good luck on your recovery....maybe you could shoot for joing us at the NW Rally (Kalispell, MT) in August of 2010?

Sorry to hear about your surgeries and inability to ride.

There are someways to drain the tank, but if the bike runs, why not just let a trusted friend take it for a ride. Just a thought. I know some wont let anyone ride there bike, but if it was mine, that is what I would do.

You should be able to siphon out most of the gas and put it in your car or truck. Then fill the bikes with fresh gas.

Thanks for the kind words. Doc & Therapist say I am at about 97% of range of motion and no risk of dislocation, so all is good. Change at 98-99% motion before it's over.

I had planned on draining via a siphon....as for letting a "freind" ride the bike.....truth is I don't know anyone who rides. When I ride it's always solo
