My wife bought me an American flag to put on the bike, was wondering what side on the passg. backrest is proper to mount it on the right side of left side?

Now I could be wrong here, but I don't think it matters if it's the only flag. If you had another flag, say a state flag or POW/MIA flag, then placement makes a difference.

I only know that there are defintely some protocols that should be observed and followed.
Good on ya for being aware of that. I suppose a web search will bring up the info you need.

If I understand correctly it should be mounted on the right hand side. Here is a web site I checked on......http://www.usa-flag-site.org/etiquette-display.shtml

The American Flag should always be on your right hand side. Easy to remember if you are giving a speech, putting the flag on your car or just about anything else. Nice of you to consider proper flag etiquette.

Doc, I have two mounts for it one, has a holder that tye wraps ( 6 holes ) to the backrest and the other has a hard mount that bolts through the lic. plate. the one that tye wraps to the backrest works really well it follows the lines of the backrest.

I proudly fly a flag on my bike. Since I only have one and also a tour pak, I mounted the holder to the center of the tour pak. As for being on the right hand side, I would think that is the best.
