Did the debaffle with the 1 3/4 hole saw.Everything went well until I tried to pull out the baffle. It will not come out on either side.Any had this problem before I would appreciate info on it.
The saw went thru cleanly and there is plenty of room to pull the baffle out. Something is holding it in or it could be stuck from the exhaust heat,I guess.
Thanks
Johnny

I had a similar problem. Just use some sort of a tool to grip the baffle (vice-grips or something) and twist back and forth repeatedly.
Mine eventually just popped-out after doing that.

I think there is a tack weld on the other end that is fairly easy to break loose. Move it around alittle and it should come loose.

Several have had this problem. It's probably a carbon buildup where the front end of the baffle fits through a hole. You may try knocking it inward about a half an inch to free it up. Grab it with some vise grips and alternate pushing with pulling and maybe even twisting it some. It can take a pretty good pull to get them free. If all that fails, you may have to resort to using a slide-hammer. Just put a nut on the end of the shaft, insert it into the baffle far enough to drop the edge of the nut over the end of the baffle and start hammering with the slide portion.

just keep tuggin and twisting...it WILL come out...not sure of there being a tack weld (I dont remember seeing any welds after pulling my out)...
alabamanomadrider had a devil of a time getting his out....he ran up to Oreilly's (i think) and they have free tool loaner problem ($34 hold fee) where he got a slide hammer and with two whacks had the baffles out...

Well, I finally got them out.I wiggled them back and forth and pulled til my wiggler wore out,so I went to O'reilys ang got the slide hammer. It still took about 10 pops on each side to get them out.Tough little things!I like the sound lots better. Thanks everyone for all the advice.I'm gonna try the TFI and Chucksters plates with the K-N filter next.Got them on the way.

Glad to read that you sucessfully removed yours. Mine were a bitch to get out. I resorted to a slide hammer. Must have been the carbon buildup. Enjoy the new sound!

Wish you had read my post and the problems I had getting mine out. I could have pulled and twisted with pliers and I don't think they would have ever come out. Mike up in East Bend, NC suggested using the slide hammer. I went to O'Reilly's and got the loaner and within 10 minutes after getting home I had them out.
