They are all tragic but that one hit alittle too close to home. When i heard about it yesterday i was in total shock!!!!! I am originally from the NIU area and now live in Beloit Wisconsin right across the border. I just don't understand!!!! If their life is that unhappy why do you have to go after other people. I do not want someone to take their lives but if they just want to start shooting at people then just kill yourself, because almost always in the end they kill themselves anyways. My family has friends that go to that college. They airlifted a few of the victims to hospitals right by me. The media was all over it. i know that they need to let others in the world know what is going on but come on leave the family and friends alone, they are still in shock. Anyways, sorry about that, My prayers go out to everyone on that horrible valentines day!!!!!!

Your not serious? First off, teachers are there to teach not to counsel the kids. A better question would be WHERE ARE THE PARENTS!!!!!!!
As for the counselors, do you think they can read the minds of every student? Some of these killers don't show any outward signs of their tendencies. I will admit some do, but a lot of them just appear to snap one day and go off.

Just seems there are no simple answers to these ongoing tragities. And yes "God Bless All".
It's always in times of tragedy that Communities seem to come together to look at problems.
Hopefully the day will come where we can come together in our communities to look at possible solutions to problems existing, that could benifit all, before things happen. Our culture seems so cought up in making a buck, that we don't spend enough time at helping one another. Too many people have lost the ability to comunicate to another person face to face. Seems everyone needs a cell phone or a computter. People seem to have forgotten how to reach out. Just my 2cw

Can't imagine losing a loved one in such a senseless tragedy. My thoughts and prayers to the families.

I'm not a radical, but not allowing firearms on any campus means only the bad guys have guns!

I am 50 years old and have seen alot prior to my retirement from homicide. There definately appears to be a lack of respect for life. When I and many of you were growing up, we never had this kind of problem. Not to preach, but I do believe when you take prayer out of the schools, quit reciting the pledge, and enforce discipline to the young whether it is in school or at home has created a generation where everyone is just expressing themselves. I grew up where respect for your elders and teachers were demanded and you certainly never wanted a teacher calling your father. Unfortunately, I don't think it is going to get better.
