Truck driver said he felt the impact and it took almost a 1/4 mile for him to pull over. This is what he found......

When the email with these pictures originally went out, it stated at the bottom that he lived. Since then, I have been informed that he is deceased.

I saw these pictures before. It's a shame when any accidents happen.

More like wearing a 18-wheeler! At least Dan L. won't be asking who is at fault here.

I too have seen that one before, when your young you feel invincible, this however is a very sobering reality.

Ditto
Given the title of this thread, I just want to point out that he is wearing his helmet. Clearly that alone is not sufficient!

Even a helmet can't over ride stupidity.
I do business with Yellow Freight out of Tulsa. They (the infamous grapevine) say that they have heard that this kid was messed up. Apparently his best friend had died a few days earlier. They said there was no lane changing and not much traffic when this happend. They are sort of implying this was more of a suicide than an accident.
Valid? Dunno... just hearsay from Tulsa

Not Nice, but how the hell do you not see the back end of a truck up in front on what looks like a straight road!! If it was suicide then why wear the helmet??

Good point.
A nice overdose of opiates would be far more pleasurable.
If it was to be suicide then like 2bez said why wear a lid and why not head on

no one will ever really know what happened, but you should never be driving that fast. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

This was a tragic accident and probably avoidable. About the time you think you have total control of a bike, the bike can show you that you don't. Our Prayers go out to this family.

If you look at the fact that he was doing 120 and didn't change lanes, it was most likely suicide. Why wear the helmet? Perhaps,
When he left the house he had no intention, but during the ride something triggered his suicidal ideation and he decided to end it.
He left the house with other people watching, fully intent on suicide but didn't want anyone to know.
These are my thoughts on how this could have happened.

I understand the choice of helmet or not based upon where you live and what your preference is...not sure I understand 120 mph at night whether I'm in my Avalanche or on a motorcycle.

To pray for his family would be in order. We must be careful my friends.

BnG is right. We can analyze what may have happened all day long as long as it is in the interest of learning and education. But we must be respectful of his family. Whether it was suicide or alcohol or just plain youthful stupidity does not matter. His family only knows that they have to deal with a senseless hole in their lives. Twisting the throttle on these machines gets people killed.
