Anyone know how to lower the new Voyagers? My 1500 Nomad was almost too high but this new Voyager has me on my tip toes.

Didn't you sit on it before you bought it? http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif The only way to lower one of these is to replace the stock shocks/springs with shorter aftermarket ones. You might be able to get the seat narrowed/shaved, but it might result in a loss of comfort.

There is room to slide the fork tubes up a bit, 1/2 inch maybe.
The rear shocks are 14" long, a set of 13" Progressive shocks would lower the rear.
I (ahem) happen to have a new set of 13" Progressives for sale.

I posted this for a guy on another board about a lowering kit and he found it helpful. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I am almost ashamed to admit to owning shoes like that in the 70's. I was thinking a pair of Gene Simmons boots might be better suited to riding.

LuckyOne,

I have the same problem with the seat height. I have a 1500 Nomad and believe the problem is that the 1700 is wider that the 1500. I'm getting used to it now after 4700 miles. The next problem is picking a new rear tire. I don't want to lower the bike because it seams to have less lean angle than the 1500 and drags easily in the turns. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

No, I didn't wear them to boot camp, if that's what you mean. The DI's had enough fun with my long hair before it got shaved off.
