Looking to buy some studded saddle bag chaps. Just wandering if anyone has them and if you like them. Looking at $85 shipped but dunno if its a worthwhile purchase or not. Havent seen anyone with pictures so didnt know how popular they are.
Thanks

I have a set on my bike and love them . I had a problem with people wanting to get on bike and drag their shoe over my bag .And I did'nt like people kicking my bag if you know what I mean .

I don't have them but a lot of folks on here do,check out P & H Customs they do good work and I think they are cheaper than what you are looking at.

I have a set on my bike from P&H Customs and they not only look terrific but they also protect the hard bags from boots as well. Did not get the studs on mine, went with the plain. They did such a good job i also purchased the tank bib from them as well.

I also have a set on my Nomad that I purchased from PH Customs. Great product at a great price. They also protect the top of the bags from shoe scuffs.

Nothing against those who like them, but I think shiny paint looks better than leather/vinyl.

If I was worried about scuffs, I'd go to a clear bra installer and have them put the clear sheet over them like the high end luxury cars often have. That way they would be protected from scuffs and still have the cool two tone paint look.

I agree with Dan except I went with the bag top rails to keep from scuffing the paint when I accidentally hit the bags getting on and off the bike.
I like shiny paint also better than vinyl or leather.

I bought mine from PH Customs right after they came out with them. So, I've had them on for a while. Had mine made with pockets, which has turned out to be very useful.

I too have PH Customs, studded bag chaps and a studded tank bib. Great products and a great company. I think the wife must'a kicked one of the studs off one of the bag chaps a few weekends ago. PH Customs mailed me some (I asked for extras) replacement studs no charge.

Here's a pic
I like them, but when i take them off I notice the clear coat on the bags has light blemishes in it. Once you have them you are probably stuck with them.

This true with all the bag chaps? Do the PH customs ones mess with your clear coat?

I also have PH bag chaps and they've been on the '06 since it was new. I make sure I keep them well wax/polished and the paint/clear is doing just fine. I kept clipping the top of the bag with my boot.

like rickyboy if you keepthem clean and bags polished you should not have problem and if your bag chaps start looking faded or dirty try that bug slide stuff made mine look brand new again turtle wax ice interior cleaner did nothing for them

Thanks alot guys!! Lots of good info... I like the looks and the purpose of not getting boot marks on the bags. I am always on my wifes a$$ about when she gets on make sure to kick it high enough to miss the bags and like every woman comes back with I know I know you dont need to tell me, low and behold when I dont she hits it and i get all anal and have to whip the bags open and get my cleaner out and make sure its not a scuff. She just doesnt understand our pride in our sharp lookin bikes. Which I ride most every day and have occasionally hit them on accident. Normally try to kick my foot directly over the seat and not back so I dont have to worry about hitting them but once hit my seat going over with some force and scuffed my factory seat which now have the mustang. Looking to replace my mustang with the mustang studded so if anyones looking for the plain mustang seat pm me. Thanks again! :)

I have top rails to prevent boot/show scuffs. Don't work. Eventually, I'm gonna have bags repainted and holes from top rails filled in, then I will buy a peel-n-stick clearcoat kit I saw on
E-Bay and then cover them with the PHCustoms bag chaps. And add a tank bra too. ;)
