I'm thinking with blacked out pipes it would be a really sharp bike.

I looked at the Star line real hard when I sold my 99 Nad, but just a little too much plastic chrome for my taste. They are sharp, but the air cooled engine didn't appeal to me, and the maintenance on the valves seemed kind of costly and unnecessary compared to the 1600 Nomad. That said it is a nice retro look.

It looks pretty good. I think that is looks similar to the victory cross country.
I do think it would look a lot better with dual pipes.
For the almost the same money, I still like the Victory better.

Took a 500+ mile ride this past weekend with a couple of my neighbors. One had a Stratoliner 1900.
The bike didn't look cheap or seem to have too much plastic; but then again it was an 08. Maybe the new ones have more plastic.
The stock pipes seemed to have a nice rumble. More so than the Nomad stock pipes.
The seat is hard and not as comfortable as the Nomad was. You definitely were sitting on top of that bike.
Some like huge gas tanks, but that bike's tank seemed too large in proportion to the bike when sitting on it. It didn't look too large from the profile view though.
The owner complained about the size of the bags. It was hard for me to tell if they would smaller than the Nomad. They certainly are shaped differently and were not overly deep -- so maybe they might not hold as much.
The windshield was way too high for my taste. The rider was looking through the shield rather than just over it. Not sure if that can be adjusted down or not. Forgot to check.
Overall though... seemed like a pretty good bike with lot's of chrome on it -- which I was told came stock.

I looked long and hard at the strat "s" before i got the nomad. a large part due to this board. The strat is a nice riding bike, a buddy has one. I too, personally didn't like the strat bags. another big factor was the price tag. a used 07 was 2K more than i bought my 08 brand new. with full warranty. the new one here looks pretty sharp. I like that they went with a hard bag. however the 17.5K price tag makes me say ouch a little..

I looked hard in 08 at the Stratoliner. I agree with previous posts about sitting on top of the bike, the valve adjustments and the weird saddle bags.
Another thing, I did not like is that I rarely saw one on the street. I am not looking to join a culture, but it is nice to own a bike that you can network with other people. If you reading this, I guess you must agree.
