Simple and straight forward. What year is YOUR bike and how many miles do you have on it. Mine as many of you know is a 1999 and I have almost 32,000 miles on it. I bought it with 19,000 on it 2 years ago and love it. Your turn, how many miles??

No, the guy with the Green Nomad pulling a green trailer was WOMPUS.

I didn't see a side car, maybe I missed that one. I own a Red/Beige Nomad.

We missed some of the Nomad events that weekend in Elkins because we were attending two bike rallys (KawaNow & MTF).

Can you tell us a few highlights about what major repairs/rebuilds you have done (if any)?

In love with the bike. Need to buy battery tender for car because it moves about once every 3 months even in winter. Rained here last three days while driving to work about out of elbow grease polishing it every nite! Black is fastest but at high speeds collects everything!

That's because the black Nomad is traveling so fast, it's gravitational pull exceeds the earth's, thus causing all types of matter to adhere to its surface. You'll get used to it. ::)

Actually most of the debris burns up before it touches the Nomad. The friction from the air on the flat surfaces generates tremendous heat.

Just over 70,000 miles on my 03 from Spring 04 when she came out of the crate to this Aug 1st, 09 when she got totaled in Tennessee. :'( She sat out the Canadian winters (about 5 months a year) from the first salting of the roads to the first really good rain downpour in the spring to wash the salt off the roads. Sure loved riding that bike. Put 81,000 miles on the bike (96 Intruder1400) I owned before the Nomad ... But that took 8 years ;) ... Yeah ... I haven't had what I'd call any major repairs on my bike. New drive-shaft, stators and cam-chain extenders. The engine has never been touched, just add gas, change the oil & filter, replace the battery & tires and ride a lot!

I rode an Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000 this past Saturday and I was the first bike out and the first bike back in on the Georgia Instate Ride, so I didn't fool around. I kept the speed up and had narry a problem.

Write-up at: http://forums.delphiforums.com/DarkSiding/messages?msg=1397.1

The Nomad now has over 247k miles. I figure if and when it finally dies, I will have gotten my money's worth. And yeah, I agree, the red/beige's are the best built (LOL).

http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/ss349/tlwiz/50K.jpg
Mileage today is about 51,500 on my trusty '07. The only problems the bike has had was the fuel pump going out last summer which was a $100 fix thanks to eBay and the clutch rod seal leak which was an easy fix thanks to CJ and KawaNOW advice. Original clutch and springs still very solid and I have no regrets about the purchase of this bike. Different people like different things, but I like a big heavy reasonably priced comfortable reliable easy to work on inexpensive to maintain bike with lots of storage and top notch passenger comfort on long vacation trips. Nomad. :)

How are you liking the Voyager? :)

I like it just fine, so far the only wrenches that have been on the engine have been to change the oil, filters, and spark plugs. The ECU has been changed (recall), the gear sensor switch was replaced (warranty) and I replaced the drive belt due to stone damage. Wheel, steering and swingarm bearings all look fine.
At this mileage on my 1600 Nomad I had added tensioner extenders, and replaced the counterbalancer gears and bushings, clutch plates & spring, front wheel bearings, steering bearings, swingarm bearings, fuel pump, and driveshaft.

CJ My bike gets the best MPG and I use it almost everyday in the summer. If gas gets over $4.00 a gallon this summer I just will cut back on driveing all vehicles. I say I will cut back now but when summertime comes Im not so sure I will. As for why I only have so much money comming in and if gas goes up to over $4.00 that is the first place I will cut.

I'll roll past 44K this week. I am putting almost 500 miles/week commuting since August.
had 32K back then. This new commute is racking up the miles. I just wished more of the miles were just pleasure riding.

Simple and straight forward. What year is YOUR bike and how many miles do you have on it. Mine as many of you know is a 1999 and I have almost 32,000 miles on it. I bought it with 19,000 on it 2 years ago and love it. Your turn, how many miles??

2013 Voyager with just over 29,000 miles. I can also add that I currently have 15,000 miles on the current set of Michelin Commander II tires and they look to good for another summer (at least).

In 12 years of riding (as of June 5, this year) on a '98 Vulcan 800 classic (traded for a blond '02 Nomad), and a red-on-black '02 Nomad (which replaced the blond one after I totaled it in California), Ruth and I have 699 miles to go to my goal of 100,000 miles. I am so fortunate and grateful to have a wife who has been willing to ride with me for so many miles even though she can't see over my head.

I have put about 10,000 miles on the Voyager in the three years I have had her. Not nearly as many as I had expected, especially after I retired two years ago. But I have had some health issues as well as other "things" eating into my riding time. However, I will be about doubling that between now and early August with the S. Dakota and Nova Scotia rallies. The rallies alone will be about 8,000 miles.
