My wife used to do that. She would hear my loud V&H pipes and have the door opened in time for me. then i fixed my remote and now I do it unless she knows when I'll be home then she does it and my Golden Retriever has a beer in a koozie in her mouth waiting for me. I am blessed.

I had this for a while, but it can be quite costly if you don't have children and are forced to default to the wife. :-/ My advice is to use sparingly.

Mine only works occasionally.Would it be possible to have a redundant system?

While I have complete faith in the reliability of the relay button, the actual mechanism that opens the door could be a problem.
I would have to have a backup as the main one is often employed else were.
I can see this getting complicated, for instance where do you get a 3 person Nomad? http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I always seem to have problems with mine. Must be mechanical.

I have one of those. The anatomy is quite different and the mode of dress is also different but still works in the same manner. Needs minor adjustments once in a while to keep it working in top efficiency; bitching and nagging, from me, usually is the mechanical answer.

Wompus, you are going to get in trouble; I happen to know your wife is a redhead and we both know what that means if you get caught being naughty. http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

I always took my garage door opener with me and threw it on back - so always had it with me when needed. Now I just carry a spare I used in the car in my tank bag - that one 'always' works without any problems...
