Last week I finally recieved my Corbin Streamliner trunk. Today, the weather cooperated, so I got it installed (on a Scootworks/Wompus rack) and took a couple hour ride since the weather was clear. Although I had a rotten experience with Corbin customer service and waited 15 weeks for the trunk, I think it was well worth the wait. I love the look and the trunk is very solidly built. It's the perfect size for the bike and follows the lines of the bags very well with a gentle downward slope. I wish it was bigger as it won't hold 2 full face helmets - but then it wouldn't look as good either. I mounted the silver bullets under the trunk using 2 of the mounting holes. While they're partially hidden, they are still twice as bright as the stock signals.
Here's some pics (more available by clicking link on my signature):

Corbin does a great job on everything they make. That trunk flows well with the lines of the bike and looks sharp. Very nice job on the lights. What kind of fairing do you have?
By the way, that red and silver is the prettiest color.

I agree, the lines work really well with the rest of the bike. Especially the saddlebags.

Hey Chris, yes they matched the paint. Total cost with shipping was $1374. Serge at Premeux's quote for their tour pack was about $400 more than the Corbin. I think the Premeux will fit 2 fullface though...

Thanks Radco - I'm pleased at how it all came together. It's the look I wanted.
I bought the lowers from www. premeux.com - same place as the fairing.

Ultimately, I thought the Corbin matched the flow of the Nomad bags better. The fact that the Corbin was about $400 cheaper helped, and the fact that my wife liked the look of the Corbin better also was a big factor, since she's the one that leans on the pack when riding.

Thank you. The Fairing is made by Premeux. I saw a red and creme Nomad once that I think was a slightly better combo, but the red and silver is definately eye catching.

They're brighter than the oem signals, and with the Kuryakyn turn-brake-run converter, I've got a bunch of lights coming on when I hit the brakes!

The biggest expense for all the trunks I looked at was the two-tone paint job to match my Nad. I called 3 local shops for cost of painting two-tone matching the kaw oem codes - The cheapest was $650!
Even a Scootworks trunk which retails for $479 is over $1700 by the time I get a back rest ($246), and paint job.
Everything I read about the cheap "ebay" trunks is that they fall apart in a year, and I wasn't going used, so the Corbin actually turned out to be one of the least expensive choices...

That's what's so cool about these forums. You get exposed to all sorts of different ideas and opinions. That's why you see everything from solo seat scoots to full dressers. Each of us tailor our bikes to our desires and needs (to the extent our pocket books allow). While I agree that I've put some coin into mods, I don't think it's too extravagent.
Considering this is my primary mode of transportation, and adding the trunk gives me a lot more storage for daily commutes and for road trips with my wife. Being able to stop and pickup groceries on the way home, or grab my kid after school if needed and be able to stow the school backpack for the ride home is priceless. Well worth the money IMHO.
Even with all the mods I've put on the bike, I still have less than $14k invested - I know a bunch of cat's that have sunk a bunch more than that in their rides, and I'd stack mine up against any of theirs.
Work hard, ride easy and enjoy your freedom.

Agreed!
Everyone makes their ride their own in whatever way the prefer. That's whay it's THEIR ride!
Some folks probably don't like what I've done to mine, but they don't have to. Just me.
And like you, I really appreciate how unique we make them.
There are some really cool Nomads here.
That's the best looking trunk I've seen on a Nomad http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I'm definately not rich, and I personally know quite a few fellers that spent a lot more on their HD's than I spent on my Nad. I reckon it all depends on your point of reference. But to your point Doc - I agree that you don't have to do a lot to the Nomad to make it look great. It's one of the best looking bikes made today, staight off the show room floor. You don't have to do any mods at all, and you have one heckuva nice looking ride.
They look great straight from the factory, modified to be a solo rider without a shield, decked out as a full-dresser, or any of the various other configurations I've seen. They're a good looking ride - no matter how you dress them.
Honestly it's not necessarily always about the money either Doc - I know several riders that frankly can afford to do pretty much whatever they want to with their scoot and they would never consider putting a trunk and windshield/fairing on their ride - They simply like the looks better without them...
I agree cheesy rider. I like your trunk even though I probably would never put one on mine. Thats the great thing about having a motorcycle as a hobby. Sometimes doing the mods and waxing them can be just as fun as riding them

Wow! that's got to be the coolest lookin trunk I've seen on any cruiser. Is it a generic shape by Corbin or specific for the Nomad? I will eventually get the same front fairing you have but will opt for a rack and tbag for now. Are you going to put the stereo in your's and why not the one from premeux? By the way, that is a nice color. Dave

Well, I've said this before and I'll say it again....if Kawasaki came to me and said, "Trip, design us a new Nomad line to sell". I'd say, make it look just like Cheesy's Nomad!
I have to admit, I love that Corbin trunk...coupled with the fairing and the engine guard fairings....that's what I think Kawasaki aught to offer as another line. Maybe call it the Nomad XLT.
Nice looking, Cheesy.

Pretty cool how far things have progressed since Vetter was the hottest thing going.
I remember a brother having a Suzuki GS 1000 fully dressed with Vetter stuff.
Things look a lot better now.

Corbin only makes the one style trunk, so I reckon you'd call it generic. I ordered the "universal" trunk, since they didn't list one specific to the Nomad. I agree the shape fits the Nomad well.
I have an amp and 2" speakers mounted in the fairing and a mount for an mp3 player. It's fine for running around in town and I already had it from my last bike, so I didn't figure I needed to purchase a radio. May upgrade the amp and speakers some day, but prefer the mp3 player to a radio.
Red/Silver is my favorite combo from recent years - You chose wisely too Dave...

Wow that trunk looks sharp.
Thanks the great thing about a Nomad, set it with two up and a trunk, or go with the stock look as yours is Doc and by the way there is nothing wrong with that look. I fell in love with the Lady in Red when she was sitting on the show room floor. And then there is mine as a solo ride or as long as the wife doesnt want to go for a ride. I'm still not leaning to a trunk yet and if i do it will be a Premeux as you said Cheesey I do want to helments to fit. And even though i drive a Jeep Liberty I'll be putting more miles on the Nomad even around town. My theroy on money is this if i have it great, if I dont thats ok too. As long as my bills are paid and i have food on my table it all good. I quit smoking 5 years ago which was a $350 habit a month, and I quit drinking approx 25 years ago which was at that time a $500 habit so with all the savings I now have i have to spend it somehow. As i said earlier looks great Cheesey but I think ALL Nomads look great. I was just looking at the 2008 model in blue and silver nice colour match today. I had a twitch for a minute on how i could have two Nomad in the Garage...You all be safe and you all should be proud of your bikes.
