The tire came this morning and so did the black toppers for my drive way! I knew I had to hang around the shop while they were digging up my driveway so I decided to go ahead and mount the tire on my Nomad.
The fit was PERFECT!! I didn't really have to do anything to the swingarm but decided since I had the tire off I'd grind off the weld a little bit... just for the heck of it.

I took it for a ride and really liked the way it tracks in a straight line, but the turns will take a little getting use to. I'll put some miles on it tomorrow and report later...
I'M ON DA DARK SIDE!!! WOOHOOOOO!!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Good job Wompus. What pressure are you running? I didn't stay at 40 psi for 50 miles. I started dropping a couple of pounds at a time until I settled at 34. I have over 1,600 miles on the tire now and will try 32 on my next ride. Working nights this week so I won't get to ride until Friday afternoon if the weather is good. The love bugs are at their peak right now so riding isn't a top priority until they clear up. Take your time getting used to the tire, you'll begin to love it soon.

Yupper's welcome to the Dark Side!~ Next time you ride another guys bike with mc tires on both ends you will feel really funny.... and won't like it much...

It will take a little time to adjust to the new feel, but pretty soon you will find it more stable.

Sounds good Mike!
If I keep the Nomad it will have a car tire on it before next spring.

Wompus,
I think you will like the CT especially when you get into soft sand and gravel. I got into some sugar sand in FL and I know the bike would never have made it through with a MC tire on the back. One negative aspect was when riding two up (370 pounds) while pulling a loaded trailer. We encountered an asphalt patch that ran parallel with the road as I was rounding a curve. The edge of the raised portion of the patch caused the back end to wallow a bit. I don't know that the same thing would have happened with a motorcycle tire on the back. No harm done and I didn't even back off the throttle.

I put about 100 miles on the bike yesterday and loved the feel of the road! I did notice that at 70 mph it tracks a lot more then the old tire did.
I had planned on hitting the Blue Ridge Parkway today and ride it to the end with my wife, but all weather reports said 60% chances of rain.
I decided to stay here and work on my new drive way and level up a few tons of dirt. DAMN.. it rained so hard that some of my dirt is at the bottom of the hill!!
Tomorrow, if it doesn't rain again I'll take the wife riding.

Air pressure.. I started at 34 lbs. Once I get use to it I'll up it 2 lbs at a time and see how it feels.

Now... I got to find a T-shirt!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

It looks good on there Mike. Nomads seem to suit a car tire pretty good from the looks of them.

Kioti, a Victory Vision is a gay mans bike!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

A Nomad is a straight mans bike! http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif

It's bad enough that you have a tricycle in your family, but a Vision!???? http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif

You get one and I'll never let you live it down!! <GMAO>

Friends don't let friends ride Victory's...

I did that a few years ago. (It's in Gadgets)
I love the Dual Baggers but after 100 miles towing a trailer, it kinda rattles the head!
Now the sound doesn't bounce back anymore!
The wife loves it too! http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif
