I have a question and haven't been able to find the answer.

Does anyone have an idea as to the specs on the 05' or 06' Nomad Alternator?

I know that most of us have extra lights, radios, GPS and other gear that is taking off power from the bike. I have actually left on the Garmin 2620 GPS overnight as that circuit is hot all the time. The bike cranked with no problem next morning in the cold of the NC mountains. I was a bit surprised that it didn't even seem like the battery was down a bit. I have never had a starting problem and never put the charger to the battery since getting it, so with the riding, the alternator must be doing it's job in good fashion.

Also as a second part, who has put on a better horn and what type is it?

Info is appreciated.

I have changed my horn due to it stopped working. I will have to find the name brand but they are just two chrome electric dual tone horns. Pretty loud for standard electrics. cost about $25.00 if I remember correctly

My memory is slipping but these horns have the same specs as mine.WOLO DUAL-TONE 112dB TWIN ELECTRIC HORNS
This electric horn produces a loud 112dB sound combining high and low tones into a harmonious blast. Fits into any engine compartment.

$19.99
They are available from JC Whitney

Bluetongue, thanks for the info and link on the horns. I'll take a look. I think I've been getting a catalogue from them lately as I've purchased a couple of things for the Nomad from them.

Take care

I would think 30 AMPS is plenty. Has anyone upgraded their alternators? And if so, what brand?

I mounted a Stebel air horn. 135 decibels of LOUD get out of my way noise. Stebel Nautilus. Won't fit in the front of the engine, had to hang mine on the crash bar but I don't even notice it until I need it. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Thanks for the tip. Do you think anyone would need more than 30?

The Stebel Nautilus is the horn of choice for most.
