Wondering what everyone will do with their Gov check, should have them by late spring. 1200 for couples and 300 extra for each child. Think I'll get the flat screen I've been wanting!!

I think it's nice of the govt to finance my trip to Eureka Springs in June. Of course it will be taxed later, but thats just a small detail they arent publicizing too loudly.

I think it is ridiculous that they are "giving" us $600. It is our money that they are "borrowing" from us, to give to us, that we will have to pay back, with interest. A better incentive or stimulus package would have been pemanent tax cuts. It p*sses me off. Sorry.

I'm with you Idaho. Not sure how they figure we as a nation, going broke, can just hand out that kind of coin to everyone. Our leaders are living without a clue.

Thanks Idaho, I was waiting for someone to realize they are only giving us back our own money!! Gee lets see, if we all get money then what isn't going to get paid for? Schools? highways? I can't believe anyone fell for that.....Do what doc says put it away for a rainy day. the Gov't will be raining on you eventually!!

I can't believe what I'm hearing. You guys don't sound like you trust our government. I think you should all take a closer look at the people WE ELECTED TO OFFICE. They get life time healthcare after only four years of service, a full pay check for life, and if they need a little extra cash they just vote themselves a raise. Trust them? They should be lined up and shot.

The money I am going to pay into the IRS will be barely off set by our refund. Maybe use what is left to buy some gas to one of the rallies.

Back in the 70's, during the "energy crisis" I believe Nixon (could have been Ford) mandated daylight savings time beyond the usual period, as an energy savings measure. I remember seeing a political cartoon that showed the president cutting one end off a blanket, and then sewing it on the other end. This "rebate check" is sort of the same principle.

Funny/sad.....folks that serve in the armed forces and could/are put in harms way have to give a minimum of twentys of our lives before we qualify for any kind of a retirement and even then we pay for the "free" healthcare we'll recieve.
National Guard folks can't even collect their retirement until age sixty.

This "refund" is supposed to boost our economy according to the politicos. The only was this will actually boost our economy is if we spead in on goods made in the US. It's getting to be a tall order to find anything made here anymore. Personally, any amount I get is going straight to paying off a credit card.

I reckon our grandkids or great grandkids will get to eventually pay it back since it's going to be borrowed and added onto the federal deficit. Heck, maybe a consortium of the Chinese, Japanese and the oil-rich Arabs will one day buy up the federal deficit and none of our offspring will have to pay it back. Of course, we will no longer own our country when that happens.

Mine will be intercepted by either Child Support, Student Loans, or the IRS.... I'll never see it, but the economy will be jump started and economic recovery will begin!!!!

I agree with Doc about putting this money in the ole' savings account. Everybody has a rainy day on their horizon. And sadly, some people in this country must continue the struggle of having too much month at the end of their money.

The government is right though, everyone who gets it will most likely run out and spend it on items they didn't expect to be able to buy. The "wants" not the "needs." Hence, the economy will get a tetanus shot. History shows that tax return money usually gets re-invested in the economy too so this extra refund is really just another booster.

I've already planned to blow my tax return on a Florida Disney Vacation for my grandson in August. It's booked and already paid for out of savings. The tax return is just a transaction to replace money already spent from savings.

The government is expecting us to spend this money on wants instead of needs because, as y'all stated, that's how you jump start the community. The experts are reporting though that many are expected to spend the money paying bills and not buying new stuff. Should be interesting to watch!

I think Bob has the right idea, but the extension to that is that we all put a little money into the economy for us. Even if you buy a Kawasaki or a Honda or Suzuki or Yamaha or whatever, someone in the US is working. This is not a loan guys, this is our money going back to us to reinvest in our country.

Or, give it back and we could just give it away as welfare for freeloaders.

I don't blame the Japanese for having a better bike and I use a dealer with Americans working at it in CA.

What do you think?

Sorry Wolfman, I hate to rub it in but it's going to be in the mid-70's this weekend. As soon as I get done with some work I have to do Saturday morning, I'm hitting the asphalt and putting some distance between myself and the city.

I'm gonna put it away because I'm sure it will be needed to pay the govt to support the piles of *&## that will get a check and don't work, don't contribute and suck air.
