I'm also a member of a couple other Vulcan sites and noticed this one mentioned on VROC so I had to check it out.
I've owned bikes since I was a teenager but have been without one for the last 12 years or so. Last year I walked into the local Kawasaki dealer, test rode a new '08 Nomad and I suddenly realized that too long ago I had let one of my biggest passions (riding!) fall by the wayside. I was hesitant to buy a new one (wasn't for sure why at the time) but instead waited and looked online for the better part of a year until I found what I was looking for. Yeah, I looked at other bikes too (and have had a Harley in the past), but I knew it had to be a Nomad this time! On May 31st of this year I rented a truck and traveled to Southern Indiana where I picked up a very well kept, one owner '02 Nomad that was right within what I was able to afford.
I now know that waiting for almost a year, as hard as it was, was the right decision. I'm looking forward to putting many, many good miles on my Nomad and am glad to see a site devoted to these great machines.
Happy Trails to all and ride safe!
